Like in every crowded party,
With the shuffling of the feet
People dance to the same song
But are lost in their own beat
For once, look at me
I'm an open book, I can't lie
And if you are so intelligent
You should know what's behind a "goodbye"
Rainfall on the sidewalk
Like puzzle pieces in place
I can't tell the difference between
The water and tears on my face
Now lower your defenses
I am ready to lower mine
This is not war, though its not love
I remind myself from time to time
Oh, the light from a thousand bulbs
Can't brighten up this pain
One smile, one glance is like a flickering candle
That can brighten up my day again.
