(Chapter.14) Asking Questions

That night neither one of us got much sleep. The next morning came way too quickly.

"I need to tell you that I'm going to have to finish my trip. I don't want to, but I have no choice." Ace explained as I finished getting ready for work.

"That's horrible, I don't want you to go. Can't I just go with you?" I asked.

"Unfortunately no, but I leave tomorrow morning and I will be back soon." He said hugging me tightly.

I said nothing, I then went to work.

As usual, I got lost in my work. After a few hours, Sam entered my office and plopped down.

"Hey Alice, what's up?" Sam asked.

"Not much just trying to get all of these manuscripts in order for the boss. How about you?"

"Not much just wanting a break so here I am." She responded.

"Okay cool, I could use one as well. So what did you think of Ace and his siblings?" I asked nervously.

"Ace seems nice but strict on his siblings. Atlee seems like a party girl. Asher seems like a player, but a sexy one."

"Oh wow yeah I agree. But you need to stay far away from Asher he is a player." I explained.

"Yeah, yeah, we shall see. Anyway I've got to go now. I've been here way too long." Sam said while exiting.

As soon as I was almost completely lost in my work Chad appeared at my door.

"Ms.Noble you have someone here to see you."

"I don't have anyone scheduled but okay send them in." I said.

Next in walked Asher.

"Asher, what a surprise what do I owe this pleasure?" I asked.

"Oh I just figured I'd drop by and we would talk." He said.

"Okay."

"So it appears you've really peaked my brother's interest. I want you to know that isn't normal. Ace has never been the relationship type. He has always been so focused on work that he had flings but that's it. I don't know what about you is different but I want to. Yes you are pretty, but Ace has had pretty women before. I guess in the end it doesn't matter as long as you stay out of the way of his work. We really need him and we can't have you distracting him." Asher explained.

"I would never come in between him and his work. So you're saying he's been nothing but a one night stand in the past?" I asked.

"Good, basically yes he always says it's easier that way. That's why I'm dying to know what makes you so different." Asher said.

"I have no idea honestly." I said when there was a knock on the door. I turned to see Ace standing there looking pissed.

"Asher what the fuck are you doing here? You need to go now." Ace scolded.

"I was simply talking to your girl here, that's it. You can calm down."

"No, now leave immediately." Ace said with a glare.

"Fine, Alice it was nice talking to you. I hope to see you soon." He said with a wave.

"What the hell did Asher say to you?" Ace asked.

"I learned a lot about you Mr.McCoy." I said with a smirk.

"Like what? What did he say?" Ace asked with worry written all over his face.

"Your secret is out. Asher told me you used to do one night stands only. He said that I'm like your first real girlfriend. In the past apparently you only did flings. He came here today to figure out what about me is so different. What makes you want more with me? I had to explain that I have no clue. But it is now time for you to explain. How did you not tell me all of that Ace? I thought we had something special. But instead it sounds like you have been keeping secrets." I explained.

"I'm sorry. Honestly it's very embarrassing that I usually do one night stands. I didn't want you to think less of me.Everything is different with you Alice. I find myself wanting to spend every minute humanly possible with you. That has never happened to me before. Not only are you absolutely gorgeous, but you're smart, kind, caring, and a freak in the sheets. Even with all of that you still seem to have an innocence about you. I can honestly say I'm falling for you hard. Which never happens, I just don't want my siblings to ruin this." Ace explained.

"Ace I'm falling for you too. You keeping secrets from me is what will ruin this. Your siblings aren't the problem." I said.

"I'll do better I promise. But now I have a question. Alice Marie Noble, these past few months have been nothing like I've ever had, felt, or dreamed of. I've realized I'm not just falling for you. I'm in love with you. Now that you're mine I don't want to let you go ever. So will you decide to put up with me forever and give me the honor of marrying me?" Ace asked as he was down on one knee.

"What? Oh my god. Ace this is crazy. I mean it's only been a few months. Are you sure? Yes I will marry you!" I exclaimed. Ace then slid the ridiculously huge diamond on my finger and I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. I started to cry.

"I'm so glad you said yes. I would have been humiliated if you didn't." Ace said kissing me again.

"I can't believe you're my fiance now. I love the sound of that. But this ring is way too much. I would love something smaller. I'm not royalty Ace." I said with a giggle.

"Okay, yes I can do that." He said. Next Ace closed the blinds to my office and locked the door.

"Ace I have work to do. This can not happen right now." I said. Ace then wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close. He made out with me.

"We need to celebrate." He said. Next he continued to kiss me. He pushed me against my desk. Then he picked me up and put me on it. He began kissing down my neck. I unbuttoned his shirt. He kissed down my shoulders sliding each strap of the dress and my bra down. Ace continued to kiss down my body. He nibbled each area as well. Next he hiked up my dress and pulled my underwear off of me.

"You won't be needing these my dear." Ace said seductively.

He then unbuttoned his slacks, down they went. Next the boxer briefs went as well.

Ace entered me. I dug my fingernails into his back. He had to put his hand over my mouth so the whole office wouldn't hear my moans.

We definitely "celebrated" our engagement.

"So who should we tell first about this?" I asked while redressing.

"I don't know. I guess our siblings?"

"That sounds perfect. I have to tell Sam too. I mean she is my best friend and most likely will be my maid of honor." I said with a huge smile.

"That sounds great gorgeous. Well I say we tell our siblings tonight. But now I've got to go. I have a meeting. I'll see you later. ''I love you." Ace said with a kiss on the cheek.

I then couldn't contain my excitement anymore, I called Sam's office.

"Hello, I will have to have my assistant take a message. I have a family emergency." Sam said.

"Wait what? Sam ''What is it?" I asked.

"I'm not really sure yet Alice. All I know is my brother is in the hospital and it's bad. Will you come with me?" Sam asked.
