(Chapter.26)Dinner with Kai

I then got in the shower, it was a long one. I felt guilty but I had nothing to feel guilty for. As I took my shower I tried to clear my head of the guilt. I closed my eyes and let the water wash over me. 
I next felt sweet kisses on my shoulder blades.
"Why are you jumping? It's just me, I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you. How are you feeling?" Ace said while wrapping his arms around me.
"I was just in deep thought. I'm feeling not bad honestly." I said turning to face him then kissing him.
He grabbed my hips tightly and kissed down my neck. Ace then grabbed my ass roughly pulling me close. Oh I knew what he was going for. His kisses were so sweet and felt so good. But I couldn't help but ruin it. I just blurted it out. 
"I'm having dinner with Kai tonight." I said quickly as Ace kissed down my chest. He froze, then looked up at me.
"You're going on a date with another man? We are engaged. What the fuck are you thinking? I never put up with anything from anyone yet I'm letting you treat me like shit. Here I was attempting to start some foreplay thinking we were going to have a nice night together. But no, you're apparently going to go on a date with another guy. So you're openly telling me that you're going to cheat on me tonight?" Ace yelled.
"No, no, no we are just friends going to catch up. I wouldn't cheat on you. I'm sorry for ruining the moment but I couldn't keep this from you. I'm not trying to treat you like shit. I'm sorry you feel that I am. But Kai and I are just friends. If you're up when I get home then we can still have a nice night together." I explained. I then ran my finger down Ace's chest.
"I think you still aren't sure if you want to be with me. Which is sad and hurtful at this point. Enjoy your dinner with Kai." Ace said he then exited the shower slamming the glass door. I huffed in frustration.  I next finished my shower and decided to get ready. I'm not sure why Ace is so jealous. But I don't want to make it any worse. So I decided to put on a pair of blue skinny jeans and a black short sleeve tshirt. I then just put on Van's. I put eyeliner on and brushed my hair.
"Ace it's time for me to go. You don't have to wait up for me unless you want to. You have nothing to worry about we are just friends grabbing food and catching up. I love you, I'll see you later." I explained. He said nothing. I kissed him on the cheek and left.  Ace takes everything so serious and makes it worse than it is. I don't know where this jealousy comes from. 
Next Kai pulled up in a royal blue Dodge Challenger. "I thought I told you to dress nice." Kai said as I got in. "This is fine. We are just hanging out." I said.
"That's what you think." Kai said in a mumble.
"What did you say?"I asked.
"I said yes you're right. So the food should be great." Kai explained. For the rest of the ride we were silent. We then pulled up and went in. We were seated immediately. The restaurant was very fancy. All of the guests were in formal attire even the employees were. I was very underdressed. Kai was in a tux. We were given French bread with butter and oil as dipping options. Wine was poured and the bottle was left. Kai ordered the seafood scampi for both of us. 
"I'm sure you feel awkward being dressed more casually than anyone here. I'm sorry for that." Kai said.
"Oh it's my fault, you warned me." I said awkwardly. 
"Well hopefully you'll enjoy the food. I'm friends with the chef. He's a great cook. I'm glad we are doing this. So tell me, how close are you and Ace really?" Kai asked.
"Why are you so interested in Ace and his house? I'm starting to think it has nothing to do with me. Is there something you need to tell me?" I asked.
"No of course not. I just know he isn't a good guy and I'm worried about you."
"Well no need to be worried, I'm an adult and I can handle myself. We are engaged and we live together. So we are pretty close I would say." I snapped. The food then came.
"I know, I know you're independent. Oh, I heard that you were engaged but Sam said that was just a rumor and you weren't really." Kai explained then put a fork full of pasta in his mouth. 
"Nope it's not a rumor we are very much engaged. See?" I explained, I then held up my hand flashing my ring. 
"Wow that's a big ring, he spent a pretty penny for it I'm sure. Or you know he stole it." Kai said.
I started to get a bad feeling. So I texted Matthew the situation and to come get me without Kai noticing. 
"He bought it. Ace doesn't steal. What happened to you knowing why what happened to you happened? What happened to you deserving it? Why has the tune changed now? " I asked aggressively. 
"It hasn't, I'm sorry I'm just worried about you. I need to go to the restroom.  I'll be right back." Kai said he then headed for the bathroom.
I looked to see if Matthew had read my messages. He had and said he was on the way. When I looked back up two huge men grabbed each of my arms and pulled me out of the restaurant into the back alley.  One put his hand over my mouth so I wouldn't scream and cause a scene.
"Let me go you dumb motherfuckers!" I yelled. The one to my right through me to the ground. The one to my left kicked me in the ribs. I coughed up blood. The one to my right slapped me so hard I was sure I'd have a black eye. This was repeated numerous times. I figured I'd die there in this dark, wet alley. When suddenly I heard a voice yell to stop. Everything was feeling fuzzy but i figured out Kai told them to stop, and they listened.
"I told you guys I only wanted her roughed up and to steal her engagement ring. I didn't say kill her. What the fuck is wrong with y'all. I can't let her go back to Ace like this. He will want to figure out who did it. I guess we have no choice, we will have to hold her hostage. I'm going to get a shit ton of money. Sam will be proud. Alright get her in the car." Kai explained to the men. I heard what he said but I could barely move, let alone speak. The men through me in the car. Before they could get in Matthew, Ace, and Asher appeared. They beat the shit out of the two men and Kai. 
I was still going in and out of consciousness. I heard Ace yell "Where is she?" Then a bunch of other men appeared and all split up.
"Boss is this her?" One man in a suit asked Ace as he tried to hold my face up. 
"Oh my god. Yes that's her. Boys code red. Alice, can you hear me? It's Ace, Alice?" Ace asked. I couldn't get words out. I felt his arms go around me and lift me. But I felt so out of it. After that everything went black.
