(Chapter. 21) Noah Randall

I go back and forth in my head. I feel as if I can't make this decision. I mean whatever conclusion I come up with will change my life forever. I love Ace, I truly do. But I don't know if I can ever be okay with what he does for a living. I also don't know if I can ever be okay with what happened to Noah and Kai because of him. If I stay with Ace, Sam will never be my friend again. How deep will I have to get in his business if we get married?

"Ms.Noble? Excuse me, Ms.Noble?" A voice said pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Oh my god Noah, I'm so happy to see you! How are you? Are you okay? Are you back now?" I asked.

"I'm so happy to see you as well. Yes I'm cleared completely. I am officially back as your assistant. I hear your ex was filling in for me. I'm terribly sorry to hear that." Noah said.

"It's fine I'm just glad you're okay. That's what matters!" I responded.

Noah then put a stack of papers on my desk and handed me my color coded schedule. Today is my first day back (I needed the distraction) and I get this wonderful surprise of Noah's return.

"Noah, I would like to ask you something and I need you to be completely honest." I explained.

"Of course, ask me anything." Noah responded while sitting down in front of me.

"Noah did you figure out what happened to you and why?"

"Honestly yes I know exactly what and why it happened." Noah answered.

"Can you elaborate?" I asked.

"I don't want you to think of me differently. But I'll tell you everything. I have a little bit of a gambling hobby. Well I got in way too deep. I ended up losing a large sum of money. I ended up owing one million dollars. Which was money I obviously didn't have. I was warned numerous times to pay the money back or something bad would happen to me. I gave what I could but it wasn't nearly enough.So the men I owed money to hired assassins to beat me up really bad to scare me. I knew it was coming. I finally have borrowed enough money from people that I know to pay the men back." Noah explained.

"I'm so sorry all of that happened to you. Do you blame the assassins for what happened to you?" I asked.

"Not in the slightest, from what I know about them they are a family that you can hire to beat up or kill someone. You can also purchase black market weapons from them. I don't blame them because they were just doing their job. That was what they were hired to do. They make some serious money in their line of work also. It was really my fault. I mean I should've been smarter if I was going to gamble. Gambling is illegal so I was messing with some dark people. I knew the possibilities and did it anyway." Noah explained.

"Can I tell you a secret that you must promise to not tell anyone ever?" I asked.

"Of course what is it?" Noah asked.

"I'm engaged to the leader of the assassins you were just speaking about. But I had no idea that was what he did until very recently. Now I don't know what to do." I admitted.

"You're engaged to the leader? Wow, he is one powerful man. He is probably one of the most powerful people in the world. His business is huge, they don't just do their services in America. They do it all over the world. What don't you know about doing?" Noah asked.

"I don't know If I should stay with him. I really love him, but this is a lot to take in.Are you mad that I'm with him?" I asked.

"Not in the slightest. I will tell you everything that they do to people, is what the people deserve. They also know it's coming. I know you're probably thinking about Kai during this as well. I don't know the details. But I do know that he knew it was coming as well. It happened because of Kai's actions regardless of what he says. That's how they conduct business. They are the best group of assassins in the world.Therefore they have very strict procedures and rules so they are always legit, nothing shady.

Is the leader dangerous? Most definitely, but you're engaged to him so his love for you could make him your ultimate protector. Love is love, we can't help who we fall in love with. You just said yourself that you didn't know that this was his life until very recently. That means you fell in love with him as a person, not for his job. I can't tell you what to do because it's your life. But I will say, you need to do what makes you happy because if you marry him you will be with him for the rest of your life. Not anyone else, I'm sure Sam is trying to guilt trip you about Kai. What you need to do is talk to Kai alone and figure out what he did to get where he is now. Then sit down and make your decision. Make sure you have all of the facts before doing so, you don't want to regret your decision later." Noah explained.

"Wow Noah, thank you I have a lot to think about. Also I agree I should see what really happened to Kai and then make a decision. You've helped me more than you could ever imagine. Let me finish my work, Then I'll go talk to Kai tonight." I said.

"No problem, I'm glad I could help. Alright I'll see you in a bit." Noah said then he exited my office.

I then continued working. The day could not end fast enough. I need to know what happened to Kai. It will hopefully clear everything up for me.

Finally I was on my way to the hospital.
