(Chapter.33) The Biggest Decision

I decided I needed some air after the biggest ultimatum I've ever been given. I wrapped a blanket around myself, wiped my tears and headed to the beach. Even at night it is so peaceful and wonderful. It almost feels calming. I walked along the water. I honestly can't believe Ace is even willing to give me another chance. I don't know what's wrong with me. I've never been the type of girl to cheat. I've always been cheated on. I do love Ace. I do want to be with him. But his lifestyle terrifies me. Life with Chase would be so easy and calm. I've always wanted the white picket fence life. Where everything always feels perfect. Is there different definitions to perfect? I don't know how to make this decision. This is the biggest decision of my life. If I say no then I'll never see Ace again. We will never kiss or hug again. He will never call me "gorgeous" in the sweet way he always does. I loved the mystery that I felt around him in the beginning. I like that he's always so sweet but kind of assertive. I guess it boils down to should I play it safe or take the risk?

My phone started to ring which snapped me out of my thoughts. It was a number I didn't recognize.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hey, how are you? It's Chase." Chase said.

"How did you get my number?" I asked while looking around feeling like I'm being watched.

"Your sister gave it to me. So why did you leave in the morning the way you did? I thought we had fun. You didn't even give me your number." Chase continued.

"Quick question, what do you want in life Chase?" I asked.

"What do you mean?"

"What do you want for your future? Do you want to be married? Do you want a big house with a white picket fence? I mean what does your future look like in your eyes?" I asked.

"I want to get married just not right now. A white picket fence? If I find a house I like with a white picket fence then I guess that's fine. Where is this coming from? Alice we slept together one night you aren't thinking marriage are you?" Chase asked sounding scared.

"Oh no no. I was just seeing what you wanted in your future. I'm not thinking about marriage after sleeping with you once don't worry. Hey, I'll talk to you later. I've got to go." I said I then hung up.

I next decided I better sleep so I make the right decision. So I went back to the room and thought I would see Ace on sofa in the living area but I was wrong. He wasn't in our room at all.

I then went and took a long hot shower trying, figure out what is best for me. I then went to bed.

"Alice wake up." I heard Ace say in a cold and hard voice. I rolled over and stretched I realized it was ten so I slept in. I looked up to find Ace in a black suit and a light green button down.

"Good morning to you too." I said rudely.

"Don't try to be cute. Look I have a lot of work to get done today. So I need to know, are you in or are you out?" Ace asked sounding exhausted.

"Well I want you to know I thought a lot about this. I mean I don't want to make the wrong decision for myself. This is a life changing decision. So after a ton of thought I have decided that I want to be with you. You are the only person that I've met that makes me act out the way I have and I'm sorry for that. But I'm ready to be your wife. I think I was just scared. I'll never do those terrible things again. I just want to be good for you. I want you to love me and be there for me always. I want to go through life with you and only you. I know things are going to get wild and dangerous but I want you Ace!" I explained.

"Are you one hundred percent sure that I'm what you want? Are you sure you won't fuck around on me again? You need to be sure. I mean it when I say I'll give my life for you. But I will not have you making me look dumb. I'm powerful and I need you to be powerful by my side. So there is no time for kissing, "playing", or fucking anyone else." Ace explained sternly.

"I understand completely. Yes I'm sure. No I won't be doing any of those things with anyone but you. I'm ready to be together forever. Let's plan our wedding!" I exclaimed.

"One more thing. What about Sam and Kai? They are against you I know that for sure. You know she doesn't want you with me. Will that affect you and I?" Ace asked.

"No it won't. Sam and I are no longer friends. I know they are both against me. Now can we try to move past this and be us again?" I asked.

"Yes we can. I'll send Atlee over to start wedding planning. Whatever you want we will have. I love you Alice. You make me crazy but you make me want you like I've never wanted anyone before. Now I have to work. I'll be back tonight. I'll try to get over you being with someone else. We will have dinner together. I love you goodbye." Ace said he then kissed me and left.

Once he walked out of the room my heart finally began to stop racing. I realized that even though I've been terrible to Ace I really love him. After all of thinking I've done, I feel a ton of fear when it comes to losing Ace. His lifestyle has been what holds me back, not being with him in general.

I then noticed my mother was calling me.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hi, sweetie, it's mom." My mother said.

"Yes mom, I have caller ID. What's up?" I asked.

"So, I was speaking to your father and we were talking about your engagement. We realized that we haven't met Ace's parents yet. So instead of some awkward dinner we want to throw you an engagement party. We will invite your whole family and his whole family. That we can meet and it can be wonderful!" My mother exclaimed.

"Oh wow, that sounds so great. But I'd like to keep it small. I just want you, dad, and Alisha. For Ace we will just invite his parents and his brother and sister." I said trying to sound excited.

"Oh well alright, I'll get back to you on the date but it will be very soon."

"Okay, that's fine, mom there is someone at the door I need to go. I love you and thank you for thinking of me. I'll talk to you later goodbye." I said I then hung up.

I opened the door to find Atlee standing there with a shit ton of magazines and a pad of paper.

"Hi, Atlee good to see you again.Come in." I said.

"Hi there soon to be sister in law. I'm glad we are seeing each other on better terms. So it is time to start planning your wedding. I can't believe it. You changed my brother. Maybe you can find a nice girl for Asher too. But before we start wedding planning I need all the juicy details about your slutiness." Atlee said.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"Oh don't play dumb, you cheated on my brother numerous times. I want to know everything. What happened and why? Ace must really love you. He's never tolerated any type of bad behavior from a woman before." She explained.

"I can't believe he told you." I said.
