A couple hours later I went downstairs and sat at the island. I asked the chef to make me brownies and cookies. She obliged of course.
I was eating a brownie when I heard a loud crashing sound in the distance. I tiptoed to figure out what it was. I opened the door to Ace's office to find him pinned on the floor with a man punching him. I took a vase and broke it over the man's head. He fell off of Ace.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yes, thank you." He said. Next Ace got up and started beating up the man. I went to jump on the man's back and he threw me off. I landed on my stomach and got severe pains.
"I'm going to beat you so bad you'll never have children." The man said.
"I don't want children anyway." Ace answered.
Well as I laid there in pain I was now in emotional pain as well. Ace doesn't want kids and I'm pregnant. I definitely have no desire to tell him now.
"Alice, are you okay?" Ace asked looking worried. The truth is no I wasn't alright. I just found out a baby is on the way and Ace doesn't want kids.
"Yes, I'm fine. It's just a few scratches. Thank you for checking on me." I responded.
"No problem. Matthew, get her out of here. I have to finish some business."
"Yes sir." Matthew responded then escorting me towards the bedroom.
"He's going to kill that man isn't he?" I asked.
"I'm not sure honestly. But there is definitely a possibility that he will." Matthew said.
"Thank you for not telling him." I replied.
"No problem. But the doctor is going to check you out bow and make sure you're alright." Matthew explained.  I said nothing. As I knew I wasn't going to win that fight. The doctor said everything was fine. Next Ace came back in.
"You're being checked a lot by the doctor. Are you alright?" Ace asked.
"Yes I'm fine. She's just making sure I'm healing okay and she's checking my mental state." I said hoping that was believable.
"Okay. So what was that display downstairs? I saw you break that case over the man's head."
"I did it for you. You know I'd do anything for you." I replied.
"I love you Mrs.McCoy. I'm one lucky man to have you by my side." Ace said he then kissed me sweetly. Next we went to sleep.
For the next few months I attempted to hide the baby bump. Luckily no one suspected anything. I constantly had Matthew on my back about telling Ace though. All of my appointments went well for the baby, I even found out the gender. These were the moments a soon to be mother should be enjoying with her husband. But I hadn't been able to bring myself to tell Ace the truth. After he told that man he didn't want kids it terrified me. What if I tell him and he decides that he wants a divorce? What if he wants me to abort it? What if he wants me to give it up for adoption? There are so many questions and so many fears of the answers. I know he deserves to know. But he's been so deep into his work that he hasn't noticed a thing. Honestly I think I need to sit down with my mother and sister and tell them everything.  Then I'll get their opinions.
"Hey, so I think I'm going to go to my parent's tomorrow and spend the night. "I said.
"I don't know if I can get off for that." Ace explained.
"Oh no I'm going to go alone. It will just be Alisha, my mom, and I. So it will be a girls night! " I exclaimed.
"Oh okay well I hope you have a great time." Ace said.
"Thanks."
Before I knew it, I was on my way to my parent's house. When I arrived I took a deep breath and then got out.
"Hi mom,how are you doing?" I asked while giving her a hug.
"I'm doing well come right in. Your sister is already here." My mother said.
"Hi Alisha, I've missed you!" I exclaimed while hugging her tightly.
"I've missed you too! But what's with the loose clothing? I know you're conservative but not by that much." She explained.
"I need to talk to you both and get some advice." I admitted.
"Alright go ahead." They said in unison.
"Just so you know you can't tell anyone. Well I'm pregnant. " I said.
"Oh my god my first grandbaby! Tell me everything. How far along are you? Is it a girl or a boy? "My mother began to pry.
"I'm going to be an aunt. Congratulations Alice you'll be an amazing mother!" Alisha exclaimed.
"Thank you. The advice I need is well I overheard Ace talking to some guy from work.  He told the man that he didn't want kids. So I haven't told Ace that we are expecting.  I'm afraid he will want to leave or want me to get rid of the baby." I said.
"Men say things they don't mean in front of other men. I have no idea why. But you can't be scared to tell him. It's his baby too. He deserves to know and be a part of things if he wants to. You need to tell him." Alisha explained.
"I agree completely with your sister. "My mother said.
For the rest of the evening we ate junk food and watched movies. It was a nice girls night.
I decided that the next day was the day I'd finally tell Ace that he was going to be a father. I arrived back home and was fully ready to tell him the truth.
"Ace, we need to talk." I said.
"It will have to wait. I'm dealing with a crisis." He responded.
After a few hours I attempted again.  His answer was the same. I attempted a third time a few hours after that and got the same response. I had officially given up. Maybe it's a good idea to just find out when I hand him the baby?
The next morning I attempted again. But Ace was yet again too busy and I had enough.
"Ace I'm telling you right now whether you like it or not. Make five fucking seconds to hear what I have to say. I'm pregnant!" I yelled.
He then dropped his tablet.
