(Chapter.27) Everything is Different

The next time I gained consciousness I was naked in a bathtub full of warm water that smelled like cotton candy. I began to panic when I realized I was back at our house and Ace put me here.
"Oh my god, I'm so glad you're awake. I've been stressing. So the doctor examined you, long story short I had to force feed you some pain pills. Now I'm giving you a warm bath one to clean you up, and two it has some healing salt in it that the doctor gave me." Ace explained while gently washing me.
"Ace thank you. I feel like you're always saving me and I continue to act like a brat. I'm sorry I've been so back and forth. I've made my decision,  I do want to be engaged to you. I do want to marry you. I want you. I know the things you've done, but I've learned they aren't who you are. I love who you are. That's of course if you still want to be with me." I explained.
"I'm so happy to hear you say that. Of course I still want you. I wouldn't have proposed if I didn't. I would go to hell and back for you over and over. That's how much I love you." Ace explained. 
"I love you too." I said. I then hugged him. Not realizing I drenched him in bath water. He hugged me back oh so gently to avoid hurting me. 
"Now let's get you out of the bathtub. I need to talk to you. This won't be an easy conversation." He explained. Next Ace helped me out of the bathtub, dried me off, and put a tank top and a pair of underwear on me. He wrapped my hair in the towel. Next he helped me into our bed and covered me up. 
"I need you to tell me everything you remember from tonight." Ace said sitting next to me. Matthew walked in with a pad of paper and his pen ready.
"I remember eating food. Then Kai asking about you and our relationship. I remember getting snappy because I felt he was acting weird about you. He then went to the bathroom. Two guys dragged me into the alley. They then kicked and slapped me over and over. Then I started going in and out of consciousness.  Kai told them to stop. He said he couldn't return me to you like this. They were only supposed to roughen me up and steal my engagement ring. That because they didn't listen then Kai would have to hold me hostage and request a ton of money from you. Also that Sam would be proud. Then he directed them to put me in the blacked out Escalade. Then y'all showed up. " I explained.
"Wow you remember a lot. Is there anything else? I know this is hard and I'm sorry but I have to know so I can protect you." No that's everything.
"Okay good, thank you. Matthew did you get everything?" Ace asked.
"Yes sir I did, word for word." Matthew replied.
"Good. Now Alice the doctor said you have two broken ribs, a broken wrist, and eye socket. He will make sure you get back to your normal self don't worry." Ace explained.
"Ace, I'm scared. I don't know why Kai wanted those things to happen to me. I have no idea how Sam is a part of it. But I'm terrified, I don't feel safe at all." I explained while starting to cry. 
Ace hugged me and explained: " We are going to figure those things out. Security wise, I've amped it up tremendously. You are on strict bed rest anyway. But every hall of this house has security. Every potential entrance or exit does as well. There are two right outside our bedroom as a just incase. Asher is staying here for a few weeks also. Everyone has had severe background checks and fingerprint scans. They even have been put on a lie detector machine. Lots of fighting and combat training. Our house is safe and secure. Now we need to get you better." 
"Wow it sounds like you went to extreme measures. I'm sorry I ever doubted you or us. I love you and your extreme measures!" I exclaimed.  
"I love you too gorgeous! The things I'm willing to do to ensure your safety are worse than before. Loving you has showed me another side of myself in many ways." He explained.
"I think it's time you meet my family. I want you to meet my parents and my sister. I'm ready to start planning our wedding. I have learned life is short. So if you know what you want then go for it and that's what I'm trying to do." I explained.
"Okay, I'd love to meet your family. I guess you should meet my parents then. They are a lot to deal with that's why I say it that way. But on the bright side you've already met my siblings. I think once you're a little better we will start with going to your parents for the weekend. Then the following weekend we shall deal with mine. After that, if you still want to marry me then wedding plans will begin." Ace explained.
"I think that sounds wonderful." I replied. 
For the next few weeks I figured out how to do everything with a broken wrist, eye socket, and two ribs. I finally got to a point where I could cover my eye with makeup. Asher did stay here for a few weeks. It is now time to prepare for Ace to meet my parents and sister.
