Part 2 of F L A S H B A C K
10 years passed. . .
. . . yet memories of yesterday kept on haunting me. It's still dad who fills up my mind.
I was preparing myself, wearing my high school uniform, and about to get down for breakfast.
"Hurry up, Reid! You should be early. It's your first day in school." mom gave out a sweet smile while filling my bowl with chocolate cereal meal. Seems like she's trying to forget the past and starting to live a new life. "Take your seat, sweety! You can have your meal now."
"Thanks mom. Wait, aren't you going to eat with me?" I asked her to take her seat but she was kinda busy putting on a bright red lipstick. "Do you have an appointment today?" I asked again and she answered me with a tricky broad smille.
"...am going to meet your Uncle Dave."
I started to frown. Who the hell is Dave??
"Uncle Dave?? I haven't met him before. Mom... is he your suitor? Are you committed with him?!"
"Don't worry, you'll be meeting him soon." What the heck! She didn't respond to my question!
"No! Just answer me! Are you committed with that guy?!" I slapped the table as my voice was getting louder.
"Reid, could you just lower your voice! Don't start a fight, please. Alright, I'm dating him. He's a good man. Yes, he's taking me out and I guess there's nothing wrong with that!"
"Mom, listen. I'm just trying to protect you. You're putting your trust with that guy but at the end of the day, he'll just hurt you. You've been fooled once and I guess, that was enough. Don't let your heart to feel the pain again!"
"I understand. But Reid, you can never control your heart. When you start to fall in love, you'll be getting what I mean."
"Tss! Whatever! It won't happen, I will never let myself to fall in that kind of stupid thing! Never!" I grabbed my bag and went out.
Nothing's new, just a boring day at St. Cloud High School. Walkin' along my way, I could hardly notice the eyes of those students who were staring at me. But whenever I look back at them, they rushly keep their eyes away from me. What the hell is their problem?! Maybe they were just afraid of me. Well, it's a usual thing.
This is me in school, a gangster-like lady. It's not a total gangster, just the type of a rude girl. Nobody cares to approach me. I don't even get a time to acquaint other people. I hate having friends, don't need them in my life. No! >.<
Finally, I reached the classroom, sat on my armchair, and put my headphones on. I've fallen in a deep short nap without knowing that the first class has ended. I was just awakened by the foot fall of my classmates who were starting to leave the classroom.
I was yawning. And as I opened my eyes, I saw a blurry face of a guy sitting beside my chair.
"...who are you?!" I exclaimed.
"You were sleeping during the whole class. By the way, I'm Chad. New student."
Chad?? Huh! What a hardihood! No one could hardly sit next to me. . . except him!
"Stay away from my seat." I looked at him fiercely, put my headphones on, and was starting to leave.
"Wait. I wanna know your name, Miss Rude..." he grinned after calling me Miss Rude! WTF!
"Shut up! Nobody attempts to talk to me that way, 'cause if they do, I swear they'll be dead! So if you wanna live longer, don't you dare piss me off."
"You're actually cool. I like that attitude. Don't worry, I'm not threatened. Somehow, I'll find a way to know your name. Bye Rude!" He left me hanging. Psshh! He's insane! >.< Aaaarrrggghhh!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reid met an extremely no-ordinary man named Chad. Find out what's gonna happen next. Would this guy be playing a remarkable part of Reid's life? We'll see. Stay tuned. :>
