At the sheriff's station, Stiles, Lydia, and I are talking about Lydia's grandmother.

Stiles looks at his dad. "It's not just that she could still be alive."

Lydia nods and adds, "It's that she would've had to fake her death."

Sheriff gives her a look. "Your grandmother, Lorraine Martin, faked her death?"

"Definitely." Stiles says certainly.

"Maybe." Lydia answers.

"More than likely, yes."

"Oh, I'm guessing you got a story to back this up?" Sheriff asks before turning to me. "Megara, do you believe this?"

I shrug. "I mean, it's possible Lorraine could be helping the Benefactor, which we know little to nothing about."

"Or is the Benefactor." Stiles guesses.

Sheriff gives each of us a look. "That sounds like a story worth hearing."

When Parrish comes back, Lydia and I take him to Derek's loft. Parrish explains what happened to him. Derek frowns. "He covered you in gasoline?"

"It's the hair and nails, isn't it?" Lydia questions. "The parts of the body that are essentially dead."

"Well, they should be gone."

Parrish gives the two of them a look. "I was set on fire. All of me should be gone."

Scott shakes his head. "Not if you're like us."

"Or Leo." I say, earning a confused look from everyone. "Leo can set himself on fire."

Parrish turns his gaze back to Scott. "Like you?"

Derek shakes his head. "I don't think he's like us."

"Then what is he?" Lydia asks.

"Sorry, but I have no idea."

I turn to Derek, crossing my arms. "But you knew about Jackson and Kira."

He frowns. "This is a little out of my experience. There might be something in the bestiary. Did you try Argent?"

"I don't know where he is." Scott admits.

"Okay, hold on." Parrish cuts in. "What's a bestiary? Actually, that's not even my first question. Just...Just tell me one thing. Are all of you like Lydia? Are you all psychic?"

"Psychic?" Derek asks incredulously.

"Yeah. Not exactly." Scott says.

Parrish frowns. "Okay. Then what are you?"

As we explain to Parrish the supernatural creatures and deadpool, he asks, "What's a kanima?"

"We'll get back to that." Scott says. "Just know that everyone like us, everyone with some kind of supernatural ability is on the deadpool."

"But I don't even know what I am." Parrish protests.

"I'm pretty sure they don't care." Derek says.

"How many professional assassins are we talking about?"

"We're starting to lose count." Lydia admits.

"But is it still just professionals?" Scott asks.

Parrish shakes his head. "I don't think Haigh's ever tried anything like this. I think he was taking a chance."

Derek purses his lips. "That means anyone with the deadpool could take a chance."

"But if Haigh had it, then who else does? How easy is it to get this thing now?"
