I'm awake thanks to demigod dreams, and I notice the clock. Stiles is completely passed out. I shake Stiles' shoulder gently. "Stiles, Stiles."
"Hmm?" He mumbles tiredly.
I smile softly. "You've got an early morning practice for the big game tomorrow, remember?"
The words clearly aren't registering, and his eyes slowly focus on me. "Hi."
"Stiles, you keep saying you want to get better at lacrosse, but you're terrible at getting up early. Get up or I'm gonna douse you."
He chuckles. "Threats don't work, sweetheart. Are you coming to practice?"
"I plan--you switched your murder board."
He nods and his eyes start closing again. "Oh no, you don't."
I flip him over and kiss him. His eyes shoot open and he rests a hand on the back of my neck as he kisses me back. "Meg, I haven't brushed my teeth yet."
"I don't care." I say, continuing to kiss him.
At school, we get tests back and Malia waves hers around excitedly. "Lydia? Lydia. Did you hear me? Look. I passed."
"'C-minus'." Lydia comments.
"Your notes are great when they're not written in code."
I look at my test to see a 'C'. I've never been a great test taker, which means I tend to do poorly, though I try to do well. Malia gets another test placed on her desk. 'F'. Coach gives her a look. "Disappointed, Malia. Profoundly disappointed."
Lydia purses her lips. "I'll send you my notes."
Kira says, "It's over. The computers are off. No more assassins. No more murders. No one's dying."
"Not yet." Lydia whispers.
After school, Stiles is helping me with Econ. I sigh in annoyance. "While it's appreciated, you know this always ends in failure, right?"
He frowns. "What do you mean?"
"I'm a terrible test taker. No amount of studying will work. I've tried."
"Well, we can try." He says with a soft smile.
"Or, we can do this." I say, pressing my lips to his.
"Study, first." Stiles says.
Sheriff Stilinski appears in the doorway and says, "Drop what you're doing. I'm taking you both out to dinner. Whatever you want."
Stiles takes my hand and turns to his dad. "Dad, I don't think a man of your debts should be treating anyone to anything."
The sheriff holds up an envelope. "Well, there's one debt we no longer have to worry about."
Stiles takes the envelope. "What is that?"
"A letter of apology from Eichen House. Apparently they've decided to forgive our debt to...Well, you, Megara, and Lydia almost getting murdered."
My mouth gapes. "They can do that?"
Sheriff nods. "They can do it and they did it!"
Stiles throws his hands into the air excitedly. "I've never been so happy to have been almost murdered."
"Well, we're not out of it yet. But, we're going to be okay."
Stiles pulls me closer to him and presses a kiss to my head. "And at least for the moment, I can afford to take my son and his girlfriend out to dinner. Megara, what's your favorite food?"
