"can you turn the channel" I ask Ethan, my hands are wet otherwise I would turn the tv off myself.

"I like this song" he complains.

"please" I half beg. Its been two years but i still can't watch ryders music videos. It's been hard to avoid them , their latest album has been a huge hit so there on the tv constantly.

"you not a fan"

"you could say that" I reply with a smirk. My past relationship with ark isn't a subject I have ever brought up with my new friends. It's been pretty liberating living in a new country where no one knows me, I feel like a whole new person. Maybe that's the reason I haven't visited home since I left, I call my mom once a month but that's pretty much as far as our contact goes. They have stopped asking when I will visit, I can hear the dissapointed in my families voices when I call.

I dry my hands on the dish towel and sit back on the sofa. Ethan is flicking through the channels as he complains that everything is "rubbish".

"we should do something, I'm sick of being in the house" he comments before he sighs dramatically.

I look at the watch on my wrist, its almost 8. "I have work in the morning"

"and"

"I need beauty sleep"

"Rose, we haven't been out in ages. Come on I'm bored" he pouts and gives me his biggest puppy dog eyes.

"we went out Tuesday"

Ethan rolls his eyes "that was 2 days ago"

"fine, where do you wanna go" I'm way too easily swayed.

Ethans face lights up, "the bronze"

My face must be extremely transparent as ethan starts laughing and pulls me up from my seat "it will be good I promise, there's gonna be live music"

"don't you lie to me, last time you told me it was live music it was some geriatric playing a flute with his nose" I wasted 2 hours of my life watching that garbage. Ethan had described it as a form of expression, I swear these arty types always have a way of explaining why something that's bad is what it is.

The whole beatnik scene at the bronze isn't my thing but Ethan loves it so I put up with it for him. I don't bother getting changed I just touch up my make up and slip on some comfortable shoes. Ethan emerges from the bedroom dressed completely in black, sat on top of his perfectly straightened head in a black beret. He may not be a struggling artist but he sure looks the part.

I take Ethans hand in my own and slip the keys in my bag as we leave the flat. It's completely different to the huge mansion I shared with he who shall not be named but its home. I was lucky to find a place so close to the store within a week of relocating to London.

We walk down the street on the uneven road and I listen as he tells me about the dog food comercial or adverts as the British say.

"I'm telling you I'm in the wrong job, you wouldn't believe how much those dog handlers get paid" he shakes his head as he speaks.

"well you know what to do"

"what's that" he asks

"let me get a dog and you can train it and put it to work"

He rolls his eyes, "no dogs, awful flee ridden mutts"

"then why were you starring alongside a dog if you hate them so much"

"because I am an actor" he says using his Ian mcckellan voice.

"I'm a broke actor who has bills to pay, I can't be picky. When I land a lead in a movie then I can stop taking every job my agent throws at me"
