Ark is clearly getting restless, he hates interviews even more than he hates rehearsals. When Maggie had called to remind him he had to meet with a reporter from the rag magazine he had told her to fuck off before ending the call. What he hadnt expected was for Maggie to turn up at his house to escort him to the interview herself. Penelope and i help convince him to go but he makes us agree we will accompany him. After all the awful things that magazine had published about me in the past i was hesitant but Maggie gave me puppy dog eyes and i couldn't refuse her.

The reporter is a young woman around my age, i wonder if she was chosen purposely due to Arks known proclivity to young women. The reporter is dressed quite provocatively in a short skirt and see through shirt, its clear she wasnt expecting me to accompany him. I guess news that i had returned to his life wasn't out yet, im sure that wont take long to change now. The reporter knows she has an exclusive on her hands , her eyes light up. The other members of the band join Ark on the sofa, they all greet Penelope and i with smiles. Ludo's smile looks strained, im not sure what has been wrong with him lately. 

"thank you all for coming, my names Fran and were here today to promote your new album, would you like to share the name exclusively to the rag" 

Ark already looks bored, he would rather be anywhere else than here.

Robbie "its called the last ride"

Fran "whats the meaing behind the name"

Ark " this is Ryders last album, our finally ride"

Fran "the band is splitting up"

Chad laughs "Ryder is and will forever be our band but we are retiring from playing publicly, weve done this for almost 20 years and its been amazing but its time to commit our time to our families and our personal lives" 

Robbii "we have wives and kids that deserve to have us present in their lives. My wife has been there for me every step of the way encouraging me to pursue my dreams but her dreams have suffered as a result"

Ark "lifes too short to treat our family like their second best that their an afterthought. I want to enjoy my life and my family while i still can"

Fran "youve been very quiet Ludo, whats your thoughts on this"

Ludo stands up and walks out of the room.

Chad " he doesnt have the family commitments we have or a partner so its going to be a big adjustment for him"

Robbii "this album is a love letter to our families and the friends and fans we have made along the way"

Fran "so your all still friends"

Ark "no, were family and we always will be"

Fran "what are your future plans "

Chad " im planning on coaching my sons baseball team"

Ark "hes only 2"

Chad "well i need to learn how to play first"

Robbii "im going to give my wife Geri the wedding she always wanted and im going to take my daughter to Disneyworld"

Ark "im going to spend as much time as i can with my daughter Penelope and i have a new business in the works"

Fran "what business"

Ark "im going to be a silent partner in my girlfriend Rose Klines upcoming fashion line"

"did you know" i ask Penelope.

"about him funding your fashion line"

"no about him retiring" i ask, Penelope shakes her head.

Maggie sighs " My life is about to get very boring, ill have to take up knitting"
