For the first time in my life I was walking into school without Jackson by my side, Tyler instead in of walking me in his place and yay to me - I actually managed to ignore the girls who were eye-balling MY man as he made his way up the stairs, but I am sure their jaws hit the ground as he pulled me in for a slow, deep kiss before he left,
"I'll see you after school baby girl"
"I'll miss you Ty, see you soon"
It didn't take me long to find Jackson, standing with his group of 'fan girls' a red headed one hanging on his arm, she was quite pretty but no doubt bat shit crazy like most of them were, 1 of them even carried a folder with 'Mrs. Jackson Archer' written on it in big red print.
Needing to fix whatever it was that had gone on between us on Saturday I made my way over to him, we had way to much history to just throw away our friendship,
"Need something Skye" he almost spat his words at me "Or are you bored with my brother already?" One of the plastic blonde girls standing with the group chimed in,
"Oh my god you have a brother, you should totally introduce us, wait oh is he hot? oh my god we could double date" I stared at her my frustration at these dumb ass bitches getting higher,
"Well I guess you could do that, thing is though the Tyler Archer, doesn't surround himself with trash unlike his younger brother" I shoved her backwards as I finished, " Now the rest of you walking STD's please get out of my face so I can talk to Jackson" they looked at me dumb founded by my bite, the red head though simply smiled at me a though she was about to play her winning hand of poker,
"Jax baby, make the horrible girl go away" she swooned at him her voice child like reminding me of how a little girl would beg her Dad for ice cream, Jacksons eye never left mine as he spoke, His words were directed at Red though.
"Get out of here, NOW" I smiled looking to the ground - haha suck it bitch, she started walking away her posse trailing behind her, but stopped, swinging her hair over her shoulder she threw back to him,
"I'll leave the key under the mat again baby, see you tonight"
"At least I know now where you have been staying" I whispered bringing my face to meet his, "Look Jax, I am so sorry, god I cannot deal with this, I can't not have you in my life, I need you" he watched me closely not saying anything so I took a step towards him,
"This thing with your brother, it really caught me by surprise OK, I am not doing it to hurt you, I love you Jackson, you are, we are" my voice finally breaking as tears started to flow from my eyes, his hands finally reaching for me grabbing my waist and pulling him towards me, he pressed my head against his chest,
"I know Star, I get it. I love you too, and I am sorry for what i said, please, forgive me, please" the last please was a desperate plea. We stayed in this position for awhile as if some invisible connection between us needed the time to repair the bond between us, eventually I broke the silence,
"So Jax baby, is this who you are now"
"Ugh Skye, don't start shit OK, she is a warm bed and it was only for 2 nights. I spoke to my boss and he is going to let me stay in the apartment above the shop" he tightened his embrace letting me know he wanted me to keep quiet until he'd finished speaking, "Tyler makes you happy Star, I can see it - it's in your eyes, in the way you speak, it's in the way you put that god damn bitch in her place just now, I've been seeing it since the morning after the party, You are good for him, shit you guys are good together and I want you to be happy, both of you, you guys deserve to be happy, you won't regret it" he paused, his lips moved to the top of my head kissing me through my hair, he left them there while he went on,
"I just couldn't hear it OK, I couldn't stand the sound of the two of you together so I snapped and I am sorry. Its why I need to stay at the shop for awhile, its my shit to deal with not yours" I sobbed into his chest,
"Jackson, my life doesn't work without you, please don't leave me"
"I'll never leave you Star, I'll always be here, with you, I just need time OK. I want you to be with Tyler, I can see how much he adores you, its written on his face, he is falling in love with you" He removed his arms from around my waist and placed his hands on my cheeks tilting my head to look at him, he wiped my tears away with his thumbs and lent down to place a soft kiss on my lips,
"Please don't say goodbye Jackson, Please"
"Oh my beautiful Star, this is not goodbye, that is not what this is, just give me some time" he kissed me again and walked away turning to watch him as he stopped suddenly,
"I love you Star" he said,
"I love you Jackson, forever and always"
I watched him walk away my back hitting the wall I sunk to the floor, it wasn't long until Sarah found me, I had never considered her a great friend but in that moment she was there for me no questions asked.
I told her to take me to Tyler, no way was I staying here, and she dropped me off with a simple "Text me and let me know how your doing".
I knew Jackson had spoken to Tyler probably giving him a run down on what had happened as Tyler was waiting for me on his front verandah, we had become so close in these past few weeks he knew there was no point in trying to ask me questions, he knew what role he needed to play in that moment, He lifted me up and carried me to his bedroom where he undressed me and placed one of his t-shirts over my head, lifting me again he laid me down into his bed, wrapping his arms around me and pressing my body against his he just held me,
"I've got you baby girl, I've got you".
