Chapter 32

Everything in Sanchi's life was taking place in a smooth manner as if she was living the life of a fairytale. The orphanage was duly transferred in the name of Sanchi Singh Bundela and she was now the official owner of it.

Vihaan chirped over the microphone, "Meet Sanchi, the brand new owner of the Swastik Orphanage, who has fought against all odds to achieve what was always hers. She has been the mentor, guide and practically the life saviour of all the little orphans."

The brilliant smile on Sanchi's face faded when Vihaan added, "Sanchi's courage has always been stronger than a sword. Being her most special friend and getting to know her closely, I've seen how great as a human being she is. This award is nothing but only a little helping hand towards her million dollar dreams."

"He rega-rds me as only his fri-end." Sanchi sighed momentarily before receiving the award from the minister.

"If you can kindly share a few sentences with us, the words of your long struggle that helped you to reach here," the minister requested, shaking hands with her.

Taking the microphone from Vihaan's hand and passing him a quick smile, Sanchi cleared her voice. "The even-ing of this spe-cial day came to me as a bless-ing and my heart-iest grati-tude goes to Vihaan Sir for doing thin-gs I had never expect-ed to happen. It is not my cour-age but he, who has been my strong-est support through-out this jour-ney. I will try my level best to inst....instill...qua....quality....kind....kindness..."

Tears filled her eyes when her stammering was being laughed at, among the audience. She had so much to share to the world but the society would never allow her.

A few men and women from the audience burst into laughter upon hearing the broken speech of Sanchi. As usual, her destiny mocked her again, making fun of her stuttering.

Shooting an icy glare at the mocking audience, Vihaan clutched Sanchi's wrist. Taking the microphone in his hand, he stood in close proximity to her, still holding on to her hand. He repeated, "She will try her level best to instill the quality of kindness and humanity among the children under her care."

When Vihaan completed her sentence on her behalf, she couldn't help staring at the changed Vihaan next to her. She couldn't believe how easily he could read her mind and repeat the exact thing she wanted to utter that night.

Being the toughest cop, he was precisely following what he had promised to her. The cop personnels during their training were taught to adhere strictly to their word and Vihaan was no different. He was fulfilling his word of promises that he had given her before befriending her.

There was no denial that Sanchi was someone very special to him and as days were passing by, she was growing more in him. He had given her word that he would always try to be good in front of her and would do anything to make her happy. He was sticking to his promises perfectly without complaints, giving Sanchi stronger reasons to respect him more than ever.

"Could you please come up on stage?" Vihaan beckoned a man from among the audience, who was the one laughing the most when Sanchi gave her speech.

"I?" The man in his early thirties and wearing a cap, questioned, "Are you calling for me? I don't represent any of the social groups."

"Don't worry, I will soon give you a social group to represent. Now move your lethargic limbs from their resting places and join us here," Vihaan said politely, releasing Sanchi's arm from his grip.

The man was laughing widely when he reached the centre stage. "Am I going to be in the limelight tonight?"

Pulling the man near him by his shoulder sleeve, Vihaan rumbled, "People like you deserve to be in the limelight."
