Chapter 25

Sanchi's closeness with Shaurya and their little passionate moment was something Vihaan was trying hard to digest. His balled fists at the sides, clenched jaws and the flames of his rage were clearly visible on the sclera of his deadly eyes.

But instead of ruining their moment or coming down ghastly on Shaurya, he decided to control his anger. Shaurya was his best friend since college times so he couldn't afford to physically harm him. And to chide Sanchi in front of others wasn't his normal self.

Sanchi ignored the enraged face of Vihaan as she stepped closer to Shaurya again. "How are you, Tom-ten? I have miss-ed you a lot you know."

Vihaan's heart wrenched when he noticed tears flowing down Sanchi's cheeks as she spoke affectionately to Shaurya. Vihaan raised an arm to speak something in her comfort but he stopped when he saw Shaurya wrapping his arm around Sanchi's shoulders and pulling her to his bosom.

Shaurya ran his hand through her hair to caress her and spoke at once, "I don't know how much you missed me but I had missed you like hell. Where were you for so many years? It's like almost ten years since I've last seen you. I recognized you by your broken voice behind me and realized that it's none other than my Kitten."

"I didn't rea-lly know it was you but I knew there's only one per-son besi-des Vidya who cou-ld love me with all my flaws in me," Sanchi said, visible pain proclaiming in her voice.

"Will you stop crying now? I don't want to see you crying again. I still remember your face clearly the last time I left you and couldn't make it to meet you again." Shaurya's deep voice sounded painful. "But since I'm back now and coincidentally in the same city as you, I'm not going to leave you alone till my death. I wouldn't even allow any other person to hurt you ever."

Engulfing Sanchi once again into his warm embrace, Shaurya caressed her shoulders. "I couldn't prove ten years ago how much I loved you but it's time that I should prove it in the present and also in the future."

"It was-n't your fault, Shay. You were bound-ed by respon-sibilities to leave me and I don't blame you. All these years, I've tried remem-bering you even if only in my dre-ams," Sanchi assured him, pressing her wet cheeks against his cotton shirt.

Vihaan was standing rigid in his place behind them, taking in the scenario with shocking surprise. His random thoughts quickly preoccupied his mind. "So is Shaurya the reason why her nightmares disturb her in sleep? Were they very much in love that she started facing nightmares in so many years when he was away? And now since he's back to her life, will she face her nightmares again? Will she not need to hold on to my palm in sleep again? It's only her palm that helps me to sleep under the lights at night!"

Vihaan came out of his uneasy thoughts when a loud giggle from Sanchi disturbed him. He was contemplating to speak but his mouth had lost all the stocks of arrogant words.

"Do both of you think I'm going to stay here as the lone audience for your romantic comedy scenes?" Vihaan managed to utter through squealing and speaking arrogantly.

Shaurya turned his face away from Sanchi to look at Vihaan and chuckled. "I'm sorry Vihaan but meeting my childhood Kitten after so many years swayed me away. But do I sense someone is jealous here?"

Vihaan narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean?"

Shaurya walked up to Vihaan and slammed his shoulder. "I already know she is your wife and I was kidding with you all through my conversation with you. But yes, I am a little upset because you didn't invite me to your marriage."
