Chapter 19
"I don't thi-nk it will be a good idea to join the bur-eau. I can do ADR's work bet-ter." Sanchi was trying hard to refuse Virendra politely.
Virendra raised his eyebrows. "You aren't telling this from your heart. Do you really want to go back to the office where you were insulted? Do you also wish to spend so much of your time and energy behind travelling? Don't forget that working with the CBI bureau can give you a better recognition than any other private job and you can also help me with my cases easily."
Sanchi bit her lower lip. She was understanding the gist of Virendra's points but every time she thought of joining the bureau, her mind was automatically swaying back to Vihaan's priorities. "I'm sor-ry but I can't. I mean ADR has also given me recog-nition. More-over, if I join the bur-eau, your son might not be comfort-able."
"Why won't he be when he is the only one who suggested this idea to me? I had appreciated him then and there," Virendra said so casually that Sanchi felt her head spin for a moment.
"He rea-lly sugg-ested but..." Sanchi trailed off when a loud voice groaned behind her.
Vihaan was standing right at the doorway, his black eyes blazing against the streaks of light reflecting from the opposite wall. "She will be joining the bureau, coming next week and it's final."
His surprising remark left Sanchi gaping at him while Virendra concluded, "So your husband has given his consent and you are going to abide by it."

The cogitation of Vihaan taking the decision on her behalf seemed to have affected her to a greater extent. Sanchi was planning to demand an explanation from him and decided to pester him for once.
She entered their room the next morning when Vihaan was tying the laces to his boots. He was all formally dressed to leave for the bureau and tucked the goggles between his shirt button. She stood behind him in silence, her face grooving with deep lines.
He caught a glimpse of her from the corner of his engaging eyes but chose to remain quiet. When he didn't utter anything, Sanchi decided to speak at last, "Do you think I'm a pup-pet for you? Once you thr-ow your anger at me and next, you or-der me to join the bur-eau. Why are you doi-ng this to me?"
He straightened up, adjusting the collar to his light brown unicolor flannel shirt, said humbly, "Is there a different choice that you can return to the ADR again? You can't afford to travel all the way to Ujjain daily only to get humiliated. Even if Chadda is overthrown with his backbone disordered, I can't trust the place. Shakti hasn't been caught yet."
"So what? One day, I'll have to ret-urn to my origi-nal place with the same old iden-tity again." Sanchi blabbered, her face peeking into his groggily.
"Shakti's problem will have been solved by then and you'll also have the orphanage under your name," Vihaan assured quickly and paved his way towards the door.
"May I ask you some-thing?" Sanchi's question rooted him at the corridor. When he allowed her, she added, "Are you bi-polar?"
"What!" Vihaan let out a shriek cry.
"Didn't you hear that corre-ctly? Are you bi-polar, a mood swing man-iac?" She smirked after shooting her questions at him.
"Are you again trying to provoke me to quarrel with you? I don't have time since I've a very important case to solve today," yelling, he turned to go when she caught hold of his hand.
"Just two min-utes of your time I need and I'll get my ans-wer. I don't like it when I'm being pla-yed as a rag by every other indivi-dual I meet, you and... Why do you some-times pret-end to be so good to me when on the other, you keep insult-ing me?" Sanchi shouted, sparks of disbelief raining along with her voice.
