Chapter 47

A polite voice greeted Vihaan as soon as he reached the outside of the farmhouse. The innocent looking young man held his palm out to him to gesture Vihaan into a handshake whereas Vihaan simply nodded his head.

As arrogant as Vihaan was, he exhibited it before every other human being, except for only Sanchi. Studying the innocent face as the new man seemed to be, Vihaan uttered in his hoarse voice, "Do we know each other? Who are you?"

The young man opened his mouth to speak but he couldn't. An another deep and grave voice grumbled from behind. "You will not know us but we know you. Are you Vihaan Bundela, Virendra's son?" .

Turning towards the man with a confused look on his face, Vihaan said correcting him, "I am but it's Vihaan Singh Bundela, the DC..."

"I know that but we don't go by our middle name, it's kind of offensive in the lineage," The man spoke sternly, his eyes glued to studying Vihaan's face. "I'm your uncle, Jitendra Bundela and he is my loyal assistant, Alok."

"My uncle as if?" Vihaan asked, unable to believe the total stranger. "Though you look somewhat similar to my dad but I have never heard of you. Or maybe I have in the childhood but can't remember much."

"Your father never allowed you and your brother to keep any relationship with any of us. How will you be aware of us?" Jitendra said casually. "By the way it's up to your father and his decision for his family and sons, I can't do anything in it. I'm here for a different cause, Vihaan."

"How did you recognize me, uncle? I don't think we have met before," Vihaan asked surprisingly, trying to simplify the confusion created.

"I had seen you once in your childhood." Jitendra laughed a little. "You were very witty and naughty, unlike your elder brother who is always calm and reserved."

"No uncle, you must be mistaken. We have never been to Omkareshwar ever before." Vihaan shook his head in anticipation.

Jitendra laughed again. "I might be mistaken and that's the reason why I called for you. I didn't really remember how you looked like and when I met some young guy from your family at the back yard, I asked him to call you here once."

Vihaan drew in a fresh breath. "Uncle, why did you call for me when you are supposed to meet and greet with my dad, my mom whom you might have been knowing since earlier times?"

"You seem to be an intelligent guy." Jitendra let out a soft chuckle. "My purpose was to actually meet you and nobody else."

"Why me? I don't even know you." Vihaan spread his arms in confusion, shrugging his shoulders.

"Because of your grandfather," Jitendra uttered slowly, allowing Vihaan to understand each of the words he spoke. "Your grandfather owes you many things but your father has been keeping you deprived of it. Will you believe that your grandfather has been diligently waiting for so many freaking years only to see you once before he actually dies?"

"My grandfather owes me something! I have not even seen him once. I don't even know who all are there in my father's family." Vihaan shrugged his shoulders again. "What does he owe to me? Why is he waiting to see me? Can you please elaborate?"

"I will let you know when the right time approaches and will fetch you to your grandfather. You will get all your answers then but there's something you need to adhere to for the time being. Don't speak a word about this short meeting in front of your father otherwise he will never allow you to know the secrets behind the Bundelas' past." Jitendra warned him with a little smile on his face.
