Chapter 71

"Whe-re are we going, Vih-aan? Where are you tak-ing me?" Sanchi was continuously rambling as she sat inside the cabin of Vihaan's private car, waiting impatiently for him to narrate the details of their trip.

Vihaan was dressed up in casual grey linen shirt, sleeves rolled up to his elbows as he worked his knuckles on the steering of his car. He had kept himself silent without imparting to her the information of surprises that she was demanding from him.

"I've warned you not to ask too much questions because I won't answer." Vihaan rolled his eyes, staring outside the window before fixing the seat belt for her again. "You are supposed to enjoy the trip without worrying your brain that much."

Dressed in an elegant blue longline top and skinny jeans, Sanchi shifted in her seat before resting her head on his shoulder. "I've enjoy-ed enough of the ride since yester-day, Vihaan. This is the third time you are buck-ling the belt for me. Are we really going any-where or just tak-ing a long stroll acr-oss the country?"

"We were twelve hours apart from our destination when we had started from home the previous day." Vihaan disclosed the little bit of information to her. "We drove for three hours before stopping for a short lunch break and headed for your shopping demands before taking the highway again. After three more hours of driving continuously, my hands gave up and we took shelter at the inn for the night."

"Who is the jour-nalist bet-ween the two of us?" Sanchi asked, aligning her head a little lower to relax her body on to the passenger seat.

"It's you, of course."

"Th-en why are you repea-tedly tele-casting the same story which I've already experi-enced LIVE?"

A short laughter erupted from Vihaan's mouth. "Because I wanted to help you with the calculation. I wanted you to know that we were six hours apart from the real destination when we started from the inn early in the morning today."

"And how ma-ny hours mo-re now?"

"Two more," Vihaan said with enthusiasm. "We've already driven for four hours since morning."

"And you...you are still so ener-getic!"

"I'm still energetic to do many things to you now, if we weren't at the public place." Vihaan furrowed his eyebrows together before grabbing the back of her palm for a short kiss.

"It's use-less to ask you any-thing. The offi-cers in the CBI would do any-thing but not leak even a min-ute bit of infor-mation." Sanchi folded her arms together. "Though I'm still get-ting impatient to kn-ow, I seal my lips for the time be-ing."

"Seal your lips? With mine?" Vihaan playfully said, earning a sharp smack from her.

"Will you sh-ut up?" Sanchi gritted her teeth. "Your sen-se of humour is puke-worthy."

"Alright, let it be. I'll show you later as to how praiseworthy my humour can be." Vihaan winked merrily. "You get some sleep until we reach our destination."

*****

Sanchi experienced a scanty sleep for the couple of hours before waking up next to Vihaan's seat and staring at the hazy highway before them. The street floodlights were being lit up for the evening and she warily stared outside the window to take a closer look at everything.
