Revisiting the world of cats

Hello everyone, Amelia here!
As I already said in my Author's note I have spent an entire year writing this novel and I am so grateful that the book I spent the most has the most views among all of the books I have published here on Wattpad.

This story is a childhood dream come true. As most of the beginning of the story was written in my childhood.
While there were some good story beats, complex characters and memorable scenes, the story is basically a mess.

This is when I start trashing my own hard work. The thing is I was young and inexperienced. I didn't know how to write properly as I do now. (At least 30 times better)
I had a very thin outline at the beginning so I was basically writing from the seat of my pants, seeing what sticks.
While there is nothing wrong with that, I have too much of imagination so I ended up getting lost in the middle. By the end of it, I was rushing to finish it before new year. I successfully did that.

But now that novel is a mess. In my eyes anyway. I was going to edit it and make a better copy of it, but when I started that, I realized how much issues it had and quit it. However, I won't delete it as it proves I can finish a novel and despite everything I just said, I am proud of it.

Now with that out of the way, here is the reason why I am writing this part.
Over the summer I have gotten a new batch of readers who are interested in this story.
In combination with some encouraging words to come back to this world, I have decided to come back to write a revised draft of the story.

Now this revised draft, is going to resemble the original. Still in the city, same cast of characters, same hamlet theme, however there will be a lot of changes.

What I have done is really building up the world of the alleys, creating lore of it, making it stand out as it's own personal thing. As one of my problems with the story was it was too similar to my inspiration (warriors)

The characters will have new names to match the world they are in, and some of them may have new roles to play.
As for the subplots, I have decided to focus on Jay, but don't worry there will be some patches and shard action  and Frost and snowflake drama, just on a smaller scale.
As for Storm...his romance story will be there, just smaller at the same time, more interesting.

I wish I could tell you everything, but I have decided to keep this project tight liped as there are many things that could still change.

For now, I have chapter 1 done,  and I will be working on the inciting incident next.

My only concern is will this story take me a whole year to write?
Only time will tell.
