I groggily woke up back on the quinjet. We were landing somewhere, but where? "Morning kid." Steve smiled, coming to kneel in front of me. "How are you feeling?" He asked. "Fine, my head is killing me though." I replied, closing my eyes for a moment. "Alright, that girl got you good, didn't she?" He Said. "G-girl? Oh the brunette chick. Yeah, she got me good." I replied. "Alright, relax for a while, we're heading to a safehouse." He explained. I nodded and unbuckled, clipping my swords to my back once again. He got up and I followed him. Bruce and Nat were talking quietly in a corner and Thor was napping. "Alright, we're here." Clint smiled as we landed and exited the jet onto a large farm with a tall house in the middle. Clint lead us to the house and we were greeted by two small children, a 5 year old girl and an 11 year old boy.

"Sorry, I would have called." Clint Said to the woman he was hugging. "Guys, this is Laura." He smiled at us. "Did you bring aunty Nat?" Said the small girl. "Why don't you hug her and find out?" Nat chuckled, picking up the little girl and hugging her. "Adorable." I whispered. "Make yourselves at home, there are spare bedrooms but we'll be here a while and some of you will have to double up." Clint explained. I nodded and started looking around. "Alright, you guys follow me. I'll get you some stuff to change into. Y/n, if you don't mind I think you'd be better off borrowing something of my sons." He smiled as he dragged the guys behind him. "Hi." I smiled at the young boy. "Hello." He replied.

"I'm cooper." He smiled, holding out a hand. "Y/n." I replied. "Follow me." He instructed gently. We walked into his room and showed me his small selection of clothes. "I don't have much, but some is better than none." He said happily. "Yeah, some is better than none." I smiled. I picked out a blue flannel and some black jeans. "Mind if I change in here?" I asked. He shook his head and left, closing the door behind him. "Good lord, I need this thing off." I groaned as i unclipped my binder, sliding it off. I pulled the flannel on over myself and started buttoning it up. I took off the rest of my suit and replaced it with the jeans I grabbed. Hesitantly, I pulled off my mask and replaced it with a hankerchief bandana type one that covered my nose and mouth. I wasn't comfortable showing my face yet. Gathering my suit in my arms, I opened the door and walked down the stairs into the lounge room.

"You look good." Nat smiled. I nodded in gratitude. "Hey Clint, Anything I can do to help out?" I asked. "We need some fire wood, you Steve and tony can get on that." He smiled. I nodded and started walking outside. I picked up an axe and took a bunch of logs over to a tree stump near where tony and Steve were working. "Hey, how you feeling kiddo?" Tony asked. "I'll be ok I think." I smiled, splitting a log down the centre. I threw the segments to the side and did a few more before my arms started to ache. Let's keep going. We don't wanna seem weak. I threw my axe down into a few more segments before I gave up. I started just pulling them apart. I had a large stack of wooden segments before I couldn't lift the axe anymore. I looked around me and saw Steve's gigantic pile and Tony's slightly smaller pile. "Good lord." I mumbled. I looked down at my blistered and splintered hand and headed inside.

"Anything I can get you?" Asked Clint's girlfriend. "Actually there is, do you by chance have a first aid kit?" I asked. She nodded and pointed to the cabinet underneath the sink. I pulled it open and was greeted by a bright red box with a green plus symbol on it. "Thanks." I smiled, grabbing the box and sitting down on the floor, my phone light illuminating my hands. I pulled out some tweezers and started plucking wood from my fingers and palms. "Need a hand?" She asked me. "I'm alright, thank you." I replied. I finished plucking wood from my hands and sprayed them with antiseptic. It stung but, eh, it would do good. When I finished up I packed everything back into the small box and put it back on its shelf in the cabinet.

I stood up and walked over to the woman. "I'm y/n, by the way." I smiled, holding my hand out. "Laura." She replied, shaking my hand. "Where's cooper gone to?" I asked. "He's showering I think. If he's not, he's in his room." She replied. I nodded and thanked her. I walked upstairs and to one of the spare rooms and knocked on the door. "Just a minute!" Nay yelled. She opened the door and adjusted her robe. "Sorry, I thought this room was empty." I smiled, walking away. "I might have to sleep outside, or with cooper." I mumbled to myself before walking straight into cooper. "Oh, uh. Sorry, my bad." I smiled awkwardly. "It's ok, mom said you're staying in my room?" He checked. I nodded. "Cool, my toys are yours too, use whatever whenever. Can we stay up late? I don't have many friends." He chuckled. I nodded and smiled. "I'd love to!" I replied enthusiastically.
