She stepped out of the taxi, the spring sun forced her to take on her sunglasses, her favourite ones, those in a vintage fifties shape.
She got to the front of the car, leaned a little inside through the open window, took her clutch, paid the driver and straightened her back again.
She took a deep breath and looked around, familiar faces, unfamiliar faces, clothes, expensive and new.
As the young woman started walking towards the entrance, she stopped as she got near a group of people standing together in a small circle looking at her, observing her from head to toe. She felt the looks, she literally saw their thought and she immediately wanted to vomit. She couldn't stand those people, the only reason she was there was because of Josh, or Joshi how she used to call him since they were five.
He had asked her to come to his wedding and even though she swore to herself she would never want to see anyone from her 'family' besides her father, she said yes, after Josh begged her to because he wanted her to be there.
Actually she was a little surprised when she got the invitation, because it seemed like even Josh, her cousin would ignore her or at least was not up for contact.
She did not even want to imagine, which lies her relatives might have spread, above all, her aunt, this stupid woman, she allways used every opportunity to talk bad about her or her father since her mother had died.
It seemed like the ceremony wasn't happening too soon and so she decided to get herself a drink from one of the tables that were decorated with flowers, and made her way to an empty bench under some trees that gave her some shadow.
She was not surprised to be alone there and she actually had expected it to be like that for the rest of this day, and in this moment she clearly enjoyed it.
She opened her cluch and fished out a cigarett and wanted to light it, but couldn't find her lighter in it. She cursed those stupid bags, too small to put important stuff in it, but yet too stylish to not use them. What a first-world-dilema she thought and looked around when she was sure that she had no fire.
She couldn't ask the groups of relatives and familiar people there, they would probably not even talk to her, if they would even look at her.
She doubted that any shop in this damn small village, that Josh had moved to would have an open shop at this time, so buying a new one for the rest of the day, that she would surely spend with a lots of cigaretts instead of people, was no option.
She wanted to give up when suddenly she saw three unfamiliar faces and saw her chance.

Matt sighed and looked at Jamie „And why exactly are we here again?“
Alex also looked at his friend but did not complain, unlike he did the whole way from London to this dump.
„Because Nora went with us to school, and we like her, and she invited us, and we would have spent this day in the studio anyways, so don't complain now, grumpy!
Enjoy....the....lanscape and....good fresh air here!“ Jamie answered but had to grin by his own words, Matt was right, this village was in the middle of nowhere!
Alex also smiled and simply continued his cigarett in silence.
„At least there are some bridesmaids here!“ Matt said and looked at a group of women.
„Believe me, not really much to get there“ all three men turned to the young woman who stepped beside Matt without them even realizing.
„Why are you so sure on that? You're here as well and look beautiful“ Matt looked at the stranger and tried to save this little awkward situation for him.
Maybe another woman would have blushed slightly by his words and looked at her shoes, giving him such a 'cute', 'girly' smile and thank him for this kind of compliment.
But not her, she looked at Matt, not really impressed and only raised an eyebrow, then looked at the group of women, typically wearing all the same dresses as bridesmaids, he was watching.
„To be honest I expected a man like you to at least want a woman who can spell her own name, unlike most of those but of course if you're going for the looks, I'd recomand Judy, she was the prom queen, but that didn't help much in the end, she still can't count to ten. But I'm sorry, actually I did not come to make you loose your interest in those lovely ladies, I wanted to ask if any of you fine gentlemen could help me out and give me some fire?“ she said, held up her unlight cigarette between her fingers and looked from Matt who was still working on her words from Jamie who had to smile by how charming she had just told Matt that he was either desperate in having a quick shag with one of the bridesmaids or just had a really low standard of woman.
Jamie shoke his head apologizing and pointed at Alex who had his own cigarette between his lips and looked at her, agreeing Matt in his mind, yes she was truly beautiful, she just had that face that said 'baby I was made to break your heart'__
