"Do you know what time it is?" "About seven I think"
"Wow, we successfully hid from the party" she smirked and held on to the chain of the swing while Alex who was standing behind her gave her a gentle push so she would swing.
She heared his lighter and soon smelled how he smoked while she felt his hand on her back every time the swing swung backwards.
"Don't say that too soon or they'll find us and force us to get back."
She laughed and closed her eyes while she was swinging through the air. It was slowely getting darker, not night, but dusk was falling and painted the clouds slightly red against the dark blue sky.Alex saw that she was obviously freezing and without any words he took off his suite jaket put it carefully over her shoulders. She didn't see it coming but as soon as she felt the fabric and the warmth he had gathered in the jaket she slid her arms through it. "Thank you" she said quietly and could even smell his aftershave surrounding her in a light scent.
Alex gave her a last gentle push and then sat down on the second swing under the huge and old tree.
She looked at him, how he sat there, moving his feet slowely so the swing would get a slow movement just like hers.
He was handsome, she though. Of course she had noticed this allready, but at this moment at this kind of sunset, he really lookd beautiful.
For someone watching them this scene might have something surreal and utterly romantic about it. Two strangers, who met on a men's toilet have spend the day hiding away from a wedding on an old playground, eating cake, smoking, talking and now sitting on a swing, watching the sunset.
He turned his face and caught her watching him, but she didn't blush and look away, she kept on looking at him, right into his eyes, the last bits of sunshine got caught in his brown eyes and for a moment she caught herself imagining how he would look when waking up, how his eyes would open and how he would smile when recognizing the person next to him, how he would cuddle up to this body, how he would put a kiss on a cheek and whisper 'good morning' with a rough voice. But as quickly as this thought popped up in her mind, she banished it again.
"Abby...?"
"Yes"
"When are you going to tell me your name..?" he asked and she heared how his original Sheffield accent was showing and this trained american one vanishing, she liked how he spoke.
She smirked and gave herself another push for the swing.
"Maybe after another drink...my Bloody Mary-level is dangerously low..."
"You really want to risk my life by sending me back to the wedding-purgatory to get you a drink?"
"Aww..poor Alex...well we can go together...maybe we'll find some food..."
"That'd be a deal, but what if one of us gets cought?"
"That can only happen to you...most of the people there are happy when I'm gone again"
"I won't be happy when you're gone"
She smiled but not even she knew how to possibly answer to this and so simply cuddled deeper into his jaket.
She searched in the breast pocket for his cigaretts and found the pack.
"Oh...last one"
"Share it?"
She noded and light it with his heavy and probably pretty expensive lighter.
She took a drag and handed him the cigarett as she blew the smoke out into the darker getting garden.
When he did the same, he felt like he could still taste her lips around the cigarett.
This went on until he let her take the last drag and she extingished it by stepping on it with her heel.
The glimming of it was the only source of light together with the house behind them and so it was dark again.
Dark and slightly cold.
"Maybe we should really get some food and search for a warmer place?" he asked and she noded.
Both stood up but when she started walking her heel got stuck in the grass and she would have probably fallen down if Alex wouldn't have cought her by holding her arms.
"Thanks...I'm ok....seems like heels are not made for wet grass.."
"You shouldn't walk in them...I really don't want you to spend this night in hospital!"
"I'm not going withot shoes, you have no idea how expensive those stockings were!"
"I have an idea" he said and knelt down in front of her.
"You're kidding me , right?"
But he kept down waiting for her to sit down on his shoulders to carry her back to the house.
"You're gonna break your neck!"
"And you yours if you try to walk back in those killer shoes" she knew he was not letting her walk.
"Your fault then" she simply said and climbed on his shoulders.
He put his hands on her legs, but only to keep her from falling down.
"Then foreward, my horse!" she said in a fake medieval voice that made him laugh while he started walking.
She was nearly as tall as he was and she wasn't really heavy. She had a beautiful figure but she wasn't a size-zero-woman. She looked simply goregous in his eyes.
"maybe I should give my new horse a name....maybe...how was that one horse from Lord of the rings called? The one that saved Aragorn?"
"Brego" cam from Alex under her
"Brego! But...that doesn't fit...hmm...how about you'll be...sparkle or...diamond?"
As an answer he softly pinched her right calf at his chest.
"Allright Rainbow" she said and laughed as he sighed, trying to sound annoyed but she knew he like how she made fun of him by giving him girly-horse names.
"So we have a die-hard lord of the rings fan here?"
"Nick made me watch it"
"Your boyfriend?"
"Almost...the fourth of our stripper group"
"Ahh..I see"
They got near the house and it seemed like the dinner was about to get served. Everyone was inside and sitting at the tables.
He got to the veranda and let her get down carefully.
She stood in front of him and patted his shoulder "Well done Sparkle"
Alex wanted to answer something similar but he heared his name from the door where Matt stood.
