"Tell me!" was all Matt greeted Alex when he stepped inside his best friends appartment. "Wish you a good morning as well, darling" Alex answered sleepy and rubbed his eyes, following matt who already sat on Alex's kitchentable.
"I don't see any underware laying around, so either you cleaned up, which you wouldn't do, I know you Turner, or you went to hers" Matt investigated and looked at Alex who leaned in the door to the kitchen/livingoom.
Alex looked at Matt and clapped slowely "Wow....Sherlock" he said and then got to the kitchen to make some coffee.
"Am I right?"
"Fuck you Matt!"
"The question is did you f-"
"Shut up!"
Alex sighed and rolled his eyes "You won't stop asking right?"
"Nope" was Matts simple answer.
"Why do you think we had sex?"
"Why not...you're Alex Turner, she's a beautiful woman, you were both bored at the wedding, spent the day at some playground...I thought one thing led to another"
"Nothing lead to anything!"
How Alex stressed the fact that they hadn't slept with each other, how he defended himself and how he had turned away from Matt making coffee to hide himself when talking about her, made another thought pop up in Matts head.
"You're falling in loooove" he said with a huge grin, because he knew, he must have been right.
"Come on Alex. Sooner or later you're coming to ask for advice, so you petter start talking now that I'm here."
"Have I already told you that I hate you?!"
"Often enough honey"
Alex sighed louder and turned around with two cups of black coffee and put one one the table in front of Matt who noded.
It was Matts habit to call Alex some pet names.
"What should I tell you....I mean you know everything already. Yes we've met there, had an awesome day and I accompanied her home. That's it"
"That's it?" Matt raised his eyebrows and sipped at his coffee.
"Why am I even talking to you?!"
"Because you don't want to screw it this time"
"Thanks Sherlock"
"She'll come to our gig in two weeks?"
Alex noded, trying to hide his face with the coffee mug.
"But you want to see her again before that of course"
"We're really spending too much time together, and know for too long Matt...." Alex stated and got himself and Matt a cigarett.
MAtt opened the window in the kitchen and leaned againstit while Alex sat on the chair.
"She wants flowers..."
"Then why aren't you out already, getting this lady some?"
"I don't know which would be the right ones and-"
"Al, it's flowers, not the Da Vinci Code"
"Fuck you, I just want..."
"To do the right thing, I see" matt really saw that Alex was serious about this. He wanted to do everything fine because he felt that this was a chance, a woman that you won't find again. Maybe her love or the try of it would feel like a studded leather headlock, but she was worth it, Alex knew that.*
"Alex....we've been in every fucking stupid flower shop in London, please....please tell me you will find some fucking flowers in this one" Matt said and emptied his paper mug with coffee in it. "Shut up Matt, I didn't force you to go on the hunt with me"
"On the hunt?? Alex, we're searching for flowers for hours now!!"
"And?? You can leave any time you want, I'm not putting you in handcuffs"
But Matt only sighed and followed Alex into the next shop.
"Maybe you should bring Breana some as well, women like flowers"
"I tell you one thing, if you won't marry this girl in the end and we've done this for nothin, I'll never talk to you!"
"Oh sweetheart, don't be such a grumpy pie!" Alex laughed and held the door open for Matt, the smell of flowers greeting them*
It was pretty late when Abby still sat on her desk and sketched something for her art class the next day and also learned the last sheets about Shakespeare for the test. She stood up and went to the small kitchen, opened a new wine bottle and pourred some in a glas. Her father would probably be quite proud of her that she took a real wine glas. This thought made her smile to herself. She went to the music player and turned it a little louder, so his voice was filling the room. When she came home last night she had gone to bed and as soon as she woke up a few hours later, sleep wasn't really her strength, she had immediately searched for a certain band, which was playing the whole day in the background. She had fallen deeply in love with their music. For reasons, 'she's thunderstorms' was one of her favourites and she couldn't get the image out of her head when Alex had sung it at the wedding, dedicating it to her. She put the cold glas against her forehead and took a deep breath. She closed her eyes and sturted quietly humming the song as it played.
She wanted to get back when suddenly she heared something behind her. Like a click. Then there it was again. She had no idea what was going on, but this noise repeted itself and it could only come from the window.
She looked out but there was nothing on it. She though maybe just something from the neighbour's apartment, but then she saw someting small hitting the window in front of her and she opened it, looked down, and she couldn't believe her eyes.
There he stood, the man she was listening to the whole day, with a handful of small stones and looking up to her with a huge smile on his beautiful face.
His face lighted up even more when he saw her surprised expression. "Good evening m'i Lady" he said and saw how she had to smile.
She leaned out of the window "Alex, what are you doing here?"
"Come down an you'll see, I only did what you told me to do"
She noded quickly and closed the window.
Before she put on the boots she usually wore she changed the Arctic Monkeys to Oasis, just in case she would, by some coincidence let him get inside.
She threw a whool cardigan over her shoulders and walked down the stairs to the entry and opened the door.
When she did so an overwhealming smell of flowers got to her and her eyes widened.
"Enough flowers for a date?" came from behind a huge bunch of flowers.
"Shit...enough for a wedding I think" she laughed and took the last steps so she could see his face, that was hidden by orchids so he had to look over them
He didn't only bring her the bouquet he was holding, there were two huge ones laying on the ground at each side of him.
Alex smiled wide at her because he saw that his surprise was exactly the right thing.
"And how did you think I would get them in my appartment?"
"I could help you" he knew it was a little risk to ask to get in, but he thought he should show iniciative.
She thought for a second and then noded.
"Give me those" she said and he handed her the huge bunch of orchids he had bought.
He then took the other two and simply followed her inside.~to be continued soon~
