„Who is she?“ Alex asked as and watched how she got away from them, her dark green dress, that had a fourties vintage pencil shape looked goregous on her, especially with the light black jaket, her black high heels and the open hair that swung up and down with every step she was taking, every step singing a reckless serenade in his ears.
„A girl who likes big words“ Matt said, sounding a little sore.
„Aww...poor Matty“ Jamie stated and looked at her as she got back to her previous place under the trees, away from everyone else there.
„She's the family's 'black sheep'“ someone behind Alex suddenly stated and stepped next to him, a guy, maybe sixteen, not old enough to be called a man, but no boy either.
He was obviously the girls-crush of the family.
„I'm Andrew, she's my cousin.“
The arctic monkeys looked at each other, a little confused and not quite sure how to react to this teen who obviously wanted to gossip about this young woman, without being asked about it.
„And no one here likes her and-“
but Alex cut him off in a sharp way „A gentleman never speaks bad of a lady, remind yourself of that while you're growing older!“
Matt raised an eyebrow and also lighted himself a cigarett with Alex's lighter, looking at the boy „How about you won't let your company wait, thing two to remember, don't let her wait“ he said, making extra sure that his behaviour was not accepted and pointed at a girl who obviously waited for the boy some metres away.
The boy blushed and looked stubborn at the older men but then left as soon as he realized there was no chance in gossiping with those strangers.
„God, what's wrong with some people.“
Matt laughed „Even your quiff is older than this boy!“ and got a grumpy look from Alex
„I just don't like this family gossip, especially when they start to tell strangers things they don't want or need to know, that's just so unneccissary! And childish!“
„Yeah you're right, but it seems like he was right, they don't really welcome her with open arms“ Matt answered and let his eyes travel over the other guests who were all collected into groups.
Alex couldn't answer because the doors to the church got opened and every group was slowely gettininside for the ceremony to start.
*
„Thanks, Abbs. I know you hate most of the people here, and have a good reason to. Really I..we appreciate that you came“ the freshly married Josh whispered into her ear as he gave her a hug as welcome, after the official church part was over and he finally wearing the ring.
„I mean, I couldn't have waisted the opportunity to see my Joshi put a ring on it!“ she smiled and he did the same.
„How are you doi-“ but he looked behind her and waved at someone and looked apologizing at her „Sorry, we'll talk later, I have to say hello there“ he said, squeezes her arm softly and simply let her stay there.
Anyone watching her face could exactly see the point where her expression got icy and her mood even worse.
„No problem, not like I drove through half the fucking country!“ she whispered to herself, getting a little pissed and walked over to the bar „More gin for me then“ she told herself and ordered the drink.
When she stepped back, the glas in her hand she suddenly bumped into someone and found a familiar quiff and half-smile that belonged to the guy with the fire, when she turned around.
„ sorry“ she apologized but saw that she did no main damage, only stepped on his shoe.
„It's ok, nothing happened“ he answered immediately and she heared that he must have been from the north of England, probably Sheffield, telling from how thick his accent was.
„Good“ she said and made her way past him and out into the garden of the Hotel where the wedding would go on.
It was actually a beautiful building, victorian style and located on a small hill with a fiew over the scenery. She headed for the garden, maybe she could 'hide' somewhere to avoid most of the people that were present.

Alex looked after her, she went out to the veranda, probably into the garden.
He began to become a little curious about her.
She had not used both her cances in starting a conversation, so probably she did not know that he was one of the arctic monkeys, not like other guests who knew them and asked for a picture.
Maybe he was just curious about her because the whole wedding was rather of a dull affair, the ceremony was just like every other he ever attended and Nora, the bride who had invited them was not really interested in having a little talk, she did not even bother in greeting them yet.
Alex guessed she had only invited them so she could tell the people that a famous band was invited at her wedding, that she went to school with them and so on.
Things like that happened regually, that people from their teen years or even before suddenly called or asked his or the other's parents about their numbers, because they were no longer just the ugly boys from the last row in class.
They were well known, not only in britain, and some people, even if they never really had contact asked them now about concert tickets and so on.
He hated such behavior and actually he, and the others also thout that Nora was different.
They were all pretty good friends during school and so they thought she might want to kind of refresh this friendship, but they were wrong.
This whole thing started to really piss him off when a group of teenage girls, probably the younger sisters from some of the bridesmaids came and asked him about autographs.
So he fled to Matt and Jamie who sat in the garden and had some drinks and let himself fall on one of the free chairs and fished for a cigarette.
„That's you 'annoying fangirls face'“ Matt stated and Alex could only nod and rolled his eyes.
„Nick was right, it's a 'I have friends who are in a band' event for her“
„Sad“ Jamie said and sipped at his Whisky.
Alex noded and did the same with his'.
„Good that we're getting back to London tonight“ he said and lighted his cigarette, while a certain lady just did not want to leave his mind.
