Alex sat in the Taxi from the airport back to his appartment.
The two weeks in New York have been good but then turned into four weeks, seeing old friends, working on some new material with the band, but also he already missed her.
He was just really looking foreward to meet her the next day as they had said.

All he wanted after that exhausting flight was a cigarette, some food and finally a real bed. He wouldn't have anything to cuddle with because Abby had taken Hamlet to hers to take care of the cat, but probably he would just fall asleep like a rock anyways.

He paid the driver and got his guitarcase and leather bag out of the car before starting to get to the door. But before he even got to the stairs he stopped and couldn't believe his eyes. No doubt, he thought and his heart made a jump and all of the sudden all his tiredness was gone.

There she sat on the three steps that lead to the entry and hall of the huge and expensive building. She wore a leatherjaket, scarf and beanie because slowely it was getting colder and colder.  Alex saw that for this wheather at night, she wasn't dressed warm enough.

He got closer with a huge smile as she saw him and also slowely got up from the stairs, it seemed like the cold night has already creeped deep into her bones. She had her hands inside the jaket's pokets and her body was shaking slightly from freezing. Alex spread his arms when he was in front of her and smiled as she sneaked hers inside his jaket and hugged him tight, putting her cold hands on his back, in the inside of his leatherjaket and softly rubbed her cold cheek against his like a cat.

"Are you trying to stab me?" she asked quietly and laughed as she kept on hugging him. Alex smiled "Don't worry, just too lazy to shave"
"What a shame...I like men with beards" she hummed, closing her eyes for a second before freeing herself from him and looked at Alex, standing in front of him.

He looked tired but handsome as ever and from what she spotted in the dim light, a bit more facial hair wouldn't look too bad. She smiled at him, then leaned against his chest and gave him a kiss on his lips as proper hello.

"Hey stripper boy" she whispered smiling and he simply kissed her back longer as answer. Damn how he had missed those perfect lips of hers. He took a deep breath, inhaling her parfume that played around his nose like a whisper, a sweet promise.

"I thought we'd see tomorrow...and why are you here and not inside?" he asked caring as he took his bag again so they could finally get to his appartment. She sighed "Well the security guy did not want to let me in because he thought I'd be some stalker-fangirl that found out where you're living. I wanted to see you tonight, not tomorrow...and I bought us some food...that's cold by now of course.." she said and looked at him.

"I'm sorry...our plane had some start problem, but let's get inside, or you're gonna freeze to death here" he said and took her hand with his free one while she took the bag from the indian take-away and both entered the huge building, demonstrately passing the security guy who apologised a hundred times as he saw that he let her wait outside for no reason.

"Now let's give you a real hug" Alex said as he had put down his stuff in the corridoor and both took off their jakets. Abby smiled as he did what he had said.

"I'm glad you came here, even though I feel guilty because you had to wait so long in the cold" he said and stroke gently over her cheek with his thumb. "It's ok. I mean it was kind of my own fault. Can I tell you something? Even though it wasn't so long, I've missed you and kind of got used to have someone warm by bed"
"You had my cat" he smiled
"Maybe I've fattened him a little"
Alex laughed "That's ok, it makes him cuddlier"
"Exactly! Maybe I should fatten you as well" she answered "But first shave you" she added and softly squeezed his stubbly cheek
"If you say so" he grinned and pulled her further inside the appartment
"By the way, where is Hamlet?"
"I left him at mine. He's not doing anything else than sleeping anyways aaaand...I thought when 'the kid' is goooone...we might have the time for some 'adult activities' " she grinned at him.
"Really? Some 'adult activity'?" he repeated in a playful way.
