Ch. 8 My boy friend really does care for me.

(Echo pov)
I woke up in the bed and I feel the bed dip. "I know your awake darling." I hear Asher say. I open my eyes and look at him. He kissed my forehead. "How do you feel?" He asks. "Fine." I said. My voice is terrible. "Ok just rest and I'll get you some water." Asher said. I nod. Then there's a knock at the door and Asher gets up. He went to the door and came back a few minutes later with a glass of water. I sit up and Asher hands it to me. I take it and look at him. He chuckles. "Drink it. It will help your throat." Asher said. He kissed my head. I drank the water and Asher smiled. I set the cup down and Asher sat beside me. He caressed my cheek and smiles at me. "I'm so sorry baby. I should have made her sleep on the couch." Asher said. "But it's not your fault." I said. "Yes it is. I should have taken more persuasions for your safety." Asher said. "It's not your fault. You didn't know." I said. Asher hugs me and I rest my head on his chest. "Are you sure you're ok?" Asher asked. "Yeah Asher I'm fine." I said and hugged back. Asher rocked me back and forth. I calm down in his arms. I don't know why but I feel safe and protected in his arms. I guess it's the mate bond. I grip his shirt. "What happened while I was out?" I ask. "I uh almost killed Chloe, I healed you and told Chloe's dad what happened. My dad and her dad had to see the evidence so they saw you unconscious." Asher said. I tense up and he chuckles. "Don't worry. I didn't let them mess with you." Asher said. "Did you show him the tape?" I ask. "Yes." Asher said. I nod and sigh. "I'm sorry Asher." I said. "I should have told you sooner." I add. "Echo baby it's not your fault. She inflicted fear on you and used that to her advantage." Asher said. I nod and he hugs me. "Just relax Echo. I took care of every thing." Asher said. I nod. "How long was Chloe threatening you?" Asher asked. I bury my face in his chest. "It's ok baby. I won't hurt you I promise." Asher said. "Will you get mad?" I ask. "No baby. I won't get mad." Asher said. "Two weeks." I said and shrank away from him in fear of getting hurt. "Ok baby." Asher said and he hugs me. "Are you mad?" I ask. "Yes but not at you." Asher said. "I'm mad at Chloe." Asher said. I nod and cuddle with him. "Now what happens?" I ask and look up at him. "Well things go back to normal. Chloe will stay with her dad and we are free to do what ever we want in the room again." Asher said. "What do you mean?" I ask. "I can cuddle with you more and kiss you more and treat you the way you should be treated." Asher said. I lean on him. "You enjoy all that?" I ask. "Enjoy it? I love it! Because I care about you a whole lot." Asher said. Then there's a knock at the door and I jump. I would have jumped out of Asher's arms if he wasn't holding so tight. So instead I cuddle with him. "Who is it?" Asher asked. "It's me." I hear Barren say through the door. I begin to shake with fear. "Come on in." Asher said. "Can I shift?" I ask. "No he has to see you some time." Asher said. Barren came in and looked at me. I lower my head in submission and he sighs. "Any way how long was it happening?" Barren asked. "She said two weeks." Asher said. "Ok. Hey I want you both at breakfast." Barren said. "Alright." Asher said. Barren left. I shake with fear. "Do I have to be there?" I ask. "Yeah sorry baby." Asher said as he ran his hand through my hair and kissed my forehead. "But he never said you have to be in human form." Asher said. "So I can go as a wolf?" I ask. "Yes." Asher said and kissed my forehead again. He let go of me. "I am going to get ready. Shift." Asher said. "Ok." I said. He went to the closet and I shift. I hop off the bed and Asher comes out a few minutes later. We went to the dinning hall and Barren sighs. "I ment for her to be in human form." He said. "Well you never specified so I said she can be in wolf form." Asher said. "Ok." Barren said. Asher sat down and I lay down beside his chair. A steak was set in front of me and I sniff it. I look at Asher as he takes a sip of his glass and then I suddenly smell blood. Right they're vampires. I eat the steak and Asher smiles. "What?" I guess his mom asked. "She finally eats. She has been refusing to eat." Asher said. "Why?" Barren asked. "I don't know." Asher said. I finish and curl into a ball. I wait for Asher to finish. "So Asher school starts in about two months." Barren said and Asher choked in his blood. "What?" Asher asked. "School starts in about two months. I want to know what you will do with? What's her name?" Barren asked. "It's Echo. I want to bring her with me but as a wolf." Asher said. "Don't other kids do that?" Asher asked. "Yes and there are rules that will protect her. But wouldn't you rather her go as human so she can learn to? Besides, don't you plan on making her queen?" Barren asked. "No and yes. I will teach her that stuff when I think she's ready. Besides there have been a lot of changes and she said she's having a hard time coping." Asher said and I tense a little. "Fine. When will you teach her?" Barren asked. Asher shrugs. "Who knows. It all depends on when she thinks she's ready." Asher said. I tense a little more. "Ok. So she will go with you to school as a wolf." Barren said. "Yeah." Asher said. I look at him and he is looking at his family. "Is she ok with that?" A lady asks. "I'll ask later and send you my final decision." Asher said. "Why not ask her now?" A girl asked. "I can't understand wolf." Asher said. "Any way, if school starts in two months then I need to fill out the paper work." Asher said. He got up and I follow him out the door. We went to his room and he closed the door as soon as I was in. I shift to human and Asher hugs me. He kissed my forehead. "That was painful." Asher said quietly. "What?" I ask. "It was painful not being able to show you I care." Asher said. He hugs me and I rest my head on his chest. "So do you want to go to school with me?" Asher asked. "What will I do?" I ask. "Just sit beside me and stay quiet. Just stick close to me and every thing will be fine." Asher said. "I won't be to much of a distraction?" I ask. "No as long as I know you're safe I'll be fine." Asher said. I rap my arms around his neck and hug him back. "Ok. I'll go. I feel safer with you." I said and he kissed my head. "But please don't make me act like a real dog." I said. "No. I want you to act like you do during breakfast or when ever we are out side of the room." Asher said. "Ok." I said. "So who all knows what I look like now?" I ask. "My dad, Chloe, Chloe's dad, Chase, Felipe knows and me." Asher said. I sigh and cuddle with him. "Ok." I said. "Go sit on the bed. I want to cuddle with you." Asher said. I sit on the bed and Asher sits next to me. He pulls me over and I lean on him. He rubs my arm. "Echo baby we are having a ball in two days. I want you to come." Asher said after he turned on the tv. "Why?" I ask. "Well to most people you would still be considered my pet. But we both know that you are my girl friend, not my pet. I want to announce that I have a girl friend. I won't make you get in front of any one I promise. But I want you there. It will be fun." Asher said. "Um ok." I said. He hugs me. "Thanks baby." Asher said. "Are you sure it's not just to repel other girls?" I ask. "Well that a small part of it. The other part is I want you." Asher said. "Echo. Will you be my queen?" Asher asked as he makes me look at him. I get a little excited and I smile for the first time in a long time. "Yes!" I said. He hugs me and I hug back. I'm still smiling. "Wow you're smile is beautiful." Asher said. I feel the warmth rush to my cheeks. "Uh thanks." I said. Asher chuckles. "Well shall we pick out your dress?" Asher asked. He hands me a catalog of dresses and I look in it. I look at the prices and these are some expansive dresses. "What's my budget?" I ask. "You don't have one." Asher said. "But Asher these dresses cost like five thousand dollars. That's to much." I said. "It's about as much as I get for my allowance." Asher said. "You get five thousand dollars for your allowance?" I ask. "Every week babe." Asher said and kissed my head. "Ok." I said. "Just pick one you like the cost doesn't matter." Asher said. I nod and look through the dresses. I grab a pen and mark the ones I like. Then Asher sighed and I look at him. "My sister, Abigail wants to see me. I have to go. I'll be back as soon as I can." Asher said. I nod and he left. I go through the rest of the catalog and then I get a piece of paper. I start to draw my own dress and as I finish I fell a sleep with every thing still out.
(Asher pov)
I left and went to my sisters room. I knock and she opens the door. She drags me in and closed the door. "Is Echo coming to the ball?" Abigail asked. "Yes. Why?" I ask. "Darren will be there only if she comes. He said that he would dance with me if he could meet your new pet." Abigail said. I rub the back of my neck. "Um ok. But I want to be with her so I know she's safe." I said. "Of course." Abigail said. I nod. "I have to go." I said. "Ok." She said. I left and went back to my room. I open the door and see Echo a sleep on the bed. The catalog is on her legs open to a random page. I close the door and went over. I pick up the catalog of dresses. "Asher?" Echo asked. "Sh. Go back to sleep baby. I'll join you in a sec." I said quietly. She nods and cuddles with the bed. I clean up and then some thing caught my eye. A paper she half hid. I pull it out and Echo moans a little. I look at the paper and it's a dress. I think Echo made it. It's beautiful. I will have the royal dress maker make it for her as a gift. I smile and pin it to my build board. I left my self a note and went to bed. I lay down and cover up. Echo is curled in a ball. I pull her to me and fell a sleep with my baby girl.
