Ch. 31 Back to school.

(Echo pov)
I woke up. When I look up, I see Chase and Felipe. I yelp and their eyes shot open. They scan the room for danger and then look at me. "Why did you yelp?" Felipe asked. "Sorry. I wasn't expecting to be in here." I said shyly. "Oh." They said at the same time. "Don't worry we don't care. Asher just wanted you to stay with us for a little bit. Because Luke escape last night." Chase said. I nod a little. "When do I go back to Asher?" I ask. "After breakfast. But you still get to sit beside him." Felipe said. I nod a little. They got ready and we went to breakfast. I sit beside Asher as Duke and Aztec come in. They sit down beside Barren and Amelia. "Asher are you going to school today?" Barren asked. "Yep." Asher said. "Ok in a few days you boys are going to stay at your uncle's castle." Barren said. All the boys choke on their blood and look at him in surprise. "What?" They ask in unison. Abigail giggles a little. "You will go to your uncle's castle for the red moon. Echo can go to if you want." Barren said. "Ok." Asher said. Chase and Felipe groan. "What's so wrong with this?" Barren said. "I don't want to bring Echo. But I can't leave her here. You know how he feels about wolf shifters." Asher said. "Right. But if you tell him to leave her a lone then he will." Barren said. They all groan. "Another thing, you know how he feels about us." Asher said. "What?" Amelia asked. "He hates us." Felipe said. "He does not. You three will go and that's final." Barren said. "Fine." Asher said. He got up and put my leash and collar on. "You didn't eat much. Are you ok?" Asher asked. I nod. "Just not hungry." I said. "Ok come on." He said. I got up and shift to wolf. We went to his car. Asher got in the driver seat and I got in the passenger seat. I shift to human as Asher drives. "Asher what do the kids at school think of me?" I ask. "They didn't find out about that. So they still like you." Asher said. I nod. "I'm sorry Asher." I said as he parks in the school parking lot. He turns off the engine and pulls me over. "You have nothing to be sorry for baby. This is my fault." Asher said. I cuddle with him and he kissed my head. "Are you ok?" He asked. "I'm scared." I said. "About Luke?" He asked. I nod. "Don't worry he won't touch you." Asher said. I nod and shift to wolf. We got out and went to his first class. When the bell rings we went to his second class. They work on a worksheet until the bell. Asher kept glancing at me and I look out the window. Then the bell rings and Asher left. I follow him to his locker and he got his lunch. He went to a cafeteria I think and looked at me. "We are staying inside today." He said. I nod and he sat down. "Shift." He said softly. I shift and he pulls me into his lap. I lean on him. "Echo can things between us go back to normal an we forget the last two months?" Asher asked. "I would like that very much." I said and cuddle with him. I close my eyes and he kissed my forehead. He worked on paper work as he ate. Then after a little bit he held an apple to me. I hesitate but I do take it. I sniff for poison or some thing like that. Then I take a bite because I smell just apple. I ate the apple and lean on Asher. I close my eyes. He takes the core and puts it in his lunch box. "Get some sleep baby." He said. I close my eyes and eventually I fell a sleep.

When I woke up, Asher has his head on the table. He's awake but his head is down. I rub my thumb on his hand that's on my stomach and he looks at me. "Are you ok?" I ask. "Yes I'm fine baby." He said and kissed my forehead. Then I notice the bags under his eyes. "How late were you up last night?" I ask. "It was I think one in the morning when I went to bed." He said. "Asher you already have so much on your plate and so much to worry about. Don't add sleep to your list." I said. "Only if you don't either." He said. "Ok." I said. "Maybe." He said. I push my bottom lip out and pout. "Pwease don't." I said and pouted again. He chuckles. "You know your really adorable when you pout." He said. Then I frown and he laughs a little. "Fine. I will get my sleep only if you eat and get your sleep." He said. "What ever it takes." I said. "But what if I can't go to bed early?" He asked. "I meant only stay up super late when you absolutely have to. Don't just do it for fun. It's not healthy." I said. "Man when you say you'll forget some thing you really forget it." He said. "Forget what?" I ask. He laughs. "Nothing." He said. I knew what he was talking about. That will always be at the back of my mind. But we agreed to forget it and every thing goes back to normal. Except for Asher taking persuasions for my safety. Which is fine with me. "What's the plan this afternoon?" I ask. "Go home and rest." He said. "What about your trip?" I ask. "I'll pack for that later." He said. "Could I ask you a couple questions about that?" I ask. "Sure ask away." He said. "Why didn't you want to go?" I ask. "Because my uncle is super up tight. Even more so than my dad on every thing. So if he saw the way I'm acting now he would kill me." Asher said. I nod. "Why didn't you want to bring me?" I ask. "Because he also hates wolf shifters with a passion. Besides he thinks that wolf shifters are inferior to vampires. So since I'm dating you he will be really mad. Now I don't want to scare you, but he will probably try to kill you or some thing." Asher said and I tense. "But don't worry, I will protect you baby." He whispers softly in my ear. I calm down and nod. "So why don't I stay at home?" I ask. "Because, with Luke out I want some one with you at all times. My brothers will be with me, my sister is to high strong and my parents they wouldn't know how to handle you with out scaring you." Asher said. "I could stay with the pack." I suggest. "No. I want you to stay close to me or my family. Because Luke could get to you much easier than I'm comfortable with because your alpha doesn't know about him." Asher said. I nod. "Ok. So I'm going with you?" I ask. "Yeah. But my uncle won't like you. So I want you to stay close to me or my brothers." Asher said. "Yes sir." I said and he chuckles. He kissed my forehead and finished his paper work. "Ok hop off and shift." He said. I got out of his lap and shift to wolf. He grabbed my leash and went to his next class as the bell rings signalling lunch is over. We went to his next class and sat down. The kids work on a work sheet. Then the class phone rings. The teacher answers and he talked with some one. "Prince Asher, go to the office you're leaving." He said after hanging up. "Ok?" Asher said but it came out more like a question. He got his stuff and went to the office. I follow behind. We get there and see Barren. "Oh good. He found Luke and we want you to deal with him." Barren said. "Ok. What about Echo?" Asher asked. "Could she stay with Chase?" Barren asked. "Sure. If you will get him down here." Asher said. A lady called for Chase and he gets gets here after a few minutes. "What ever it is I didn't do it." Were the first words out of his mouth. "No. I just need you to watch Echo. While I deal with Luke." Asher said. "Ok." Chase said. Asher hands him my leash and we went to Chase's class. He sat down and I sit beside him. When the bell rings, we went to the gym for he last class. "Ok kids today is a free day. So you can do as you want but behave." The teacher said. All the kids sat on the bleachers, including Chase. "Shift." He told me. I shift. "Yes?" I ask. "Come here." He said as he grabs my waist and puts me in his lap. "Are you ok with this?" He asked. I nod and he messed with my hair as he plays his phone. "So do you want to play basketball?" Chase asked. "Basketball?" I ask. "You don't know what basketball is?" Chase asked. "Hello. I lived in a pet shop. We weren't allowed to do any thing." I said. "Oh right." Chase said. He hooks an arm around me and makes me lean back. He plays his phone for a while and then the bell rings. We got up and Chase grabbed his stuff. "Do I need to shift?" I ask. "Nah come on." He said. We went to his car and Felipe is already in the driver seat. I climb into the middle of the front and Chase sat beside me. "What is Echo doing here?" Felipe asked. "Asher asked me to watch her while he deals with Luke." Chase said. "Ok." Felipe said. They drive home.
