Ch. 17 Some one wants me dead.

(Echo pov)
"Echo." Some one said as they nudge me. I sit up and yawn. I look at Asher and he smiles. "Let's go baby." He said. We got out and went inside. I shift to human and Asher raps his arm around my waist. I lean on him, my eyes half closed. "Echo baby just make it to the room and then you can pass out." Asher whispered in my ear. I nod and force my eyes open. "Ok from now on I want you to take a nap on me during lunch." Asher said. "Do I have time?" I ask. "I would say so. Lunch is an hour long and if you eat fast which you do then you would get a decent nap." Asher said. I nod and lean on him again. He rubs my arm and we get to his room. I sit on the bed while Asher collapses. I smile a little and he pulls me down beside him. He is on his back, with one arm around me and the other under his head. I cuddle up to Asher and he pulled the blanket on us. Asher worked on his phone while I lay beside him. "Did you like school?" Asher asked. "It was ok. I mean it's better than staying her because I'm with you. But I don't like getting up that early." I said. "Will you continue to come?" Asher asked. "Yes because it means I get to stay with you." I said. He smiles and kissed my head. "Echo what was that during class? Your voice was in my head." Asher said. "Oh it's called mind linking. Mates can do that with each other. Try it." I said. "Hello can you hear me?" Asher mind linked with me. "Yeah I hear you." I mind link back. He smiles and kissed my forehead. He moves his thumb back and forth on my arm. Eventually I fell a sleep.
When I woke, I can feel some thing on my back. Asher is still a sleep. I look behind me and see a knife up to my back in Asher's hand. But I know he wouldn't do that. I squeak and jump into Asher. He wakes up and sees the knife. He moved it to the night stand and looked at me. I'm shaking with fear. "Echo are you ok?" Asher asked. I nod and cuddle with him. "It didn't hurt you?" He asked. "No." I said. "No bad dreams last night?" Asher asked. "No." I said. "Ok. Sh baby it's ok. I will protect you baby." He whispers softly in my ear as he hugs me. I cuddle with him and he rubs my back. "Nothing hurts right?" He asked. "Nothing hurts." I confirmed. He hugs me and my stomach growls. "Let's go baby." Asher said softly. I nod and we get up. We get dressed and then we walk to the door. I jump back when Asher opens it because I see Duke and he kind of startled me. "Hey boy." Asher said. Duke barks and his tail wags. We went to the dinning hall and sat down. "Good morning." Amelia said. "More or less." Asher said. "What's wrong?" Barren asked. "We found another knife or more like Echo found it." Asher said. "Where was it?" Barren asked. "In my hand to Echo's back." Asher said. "Ok so now we know some one wants I think both of you dead." Abigail said. "I think they want Echo dead." Asher said. "How do we know they don't want you dead to?" I ask. "Remember what Duke told me that you told him?" Asher asked. "Oh right." I said. "What?" Amelia asked. "Echo do you mind?" Asher asked. I shake my head no and Asher told them all about the knifes, the dreams and every thing else. When he finished every one looked at me. "I wasn't going to actually do as he asked I promise." I said. "We know don't worry. But why didn't you tell us?" Amelia asked. "But she did." Abigail pointed out. "I meant when it first started happening." Amelia said. "I was scared I didn't know what to do." I said quietly. They go back to talking where I'm left a lone. Duke comes around to my chair and he sets his head in my lap. He whimpers and I pet him. When Asher and I were finished we got up to leave. "Oh one more thing before you two go." Barren said. We turn to face him. "I want Duke to stay with you until we know for sure both of you are safe." Barren said. We nod and Duke followed us out. "Oh hey remember the red moon is tomorrow." Barren added quickly. "I know. I will handle it." Asher said. Asher walked behind me and he rested his head on my shoulder. "Are you ok?" I ask. "No. I have no idea what I'm going to do with you during the red moon." Asher said as he raps his arms around me and pulls me to him. Then he kissed my head and I lean on him. "So I guess you're not letting me stay out side all night?" I ask. "I'm sorry baby but no it's too dangerous with this new threat. But don't worry I will get you out side some time." Asher said. I nod as we get to his room. He lets go of me and we went in. I let Duke in and then I close then door. Asher is at his desk working on some thing. He seems stressed. I went over. I set my hand on his shoulder. "Asher are you ok?" I ask as he look at me. "Yes baby I'm fine." He said as he gently grabs my waist and pulls me into his lap. I cuddle up to him and turn side ways in his lap, so I'm facing the door. Asher kissed my forehead and I smile a little as my eyes close. "Asher may I tell you some thing?" I ask and look at him. He set his pen down and rapped his other arm around me. Then looked at me. "Any thing." He said. "I'm scared." I said. He hugs me. "I know I know. But I'm right here and I'm not going any where. I'm here baby and I won't leave you ever." Asher said as he rocks me back and forth. He hums a little and I fell a sleep in Asher's lap.
"Echo." Some one said as they nudge me a little. I look up at Asher and he smile softly. "Let's go to bed." Asher said softly. I nod and got up. We went to the bed and layed down. We cuddle and cover up. Eventually I fell a sleep in Asher's arms.
