I'm pretty sure this hasn't been done before. So here's the thing: this is during War Storm, but it takes an alternate turn. Yeah, Mare's pregnant.
Here's tidbit of what could have happened.
She loved him with all her heart, but she couldn't deny that the crown had changed him to a different person.
So this happened.
She knew it was a mistake too late. Why she did it, she didn't know.
Maybe to get his attention? To get back with saying, "This is what could've been with us, had you not chosen the piece of metal over me." ? So he'd regret his decision?
She succeeded in all of those with the child growing inside her.
A shame that the little one did not belong to Tiberias.

Ok, ok, I'm sorry these are becoming so cruel, but they really haven't been done before. Shade deserved better, and some of you guys were so kind as to create fanfics that he was alive.
