[Yukino/Lucy]

"Hey Yukino! Long time no see, how have you been?" Lucy Heartfillia ran outside to great her friend, and pulled her into a hug.

Yukino seemed worried and nervous, but nonetheless hugged Lucy tightly.

"I've...been well. I have to talk with you about something...It's really kind of embarrassing though."

"Alright, Let's talk on the job. The boys will get rowdy and try to listen in, so let's leave. Do you want anything to eat before we go?"

"No thanks, Lucy-sama. Do you have the job flyer?"

"Yep! All approved and ready to go. Our job is to go to a rural village and educate the children at the school about magic. It seems safe and enjoyable, and the pay isn't bad either. 50,000 Jewels. And also, no need to be so polite. You're like my sister. Please just call me Lucy."

"Thanks..."

Wow, I'm being told that a lot lately...

Before the two got to even take one step, Nastu Dragneel, the hotheaded Fire Dragon Slayer, practically flew out the doors of the guildhall and wrapped an arm around Lucy's shoulder.

"Hello Natsu-san, Sting sends his regards!"

"Nice to see you Yukino, tell Sting that I wanna fight him next time I see him! And Lucy, can I please, please, please come with you two?"

"Natsu! I thought I told you that only Yukino and I are doing this job! We need girl time! Go fight with Gray or something!" Lucy yelled.

Natsu looked so dejected.

"Okay, Luce, I got it."

Yukino felt so bad she was going to invite him to go with them, but Lucy just shook her head and mouthed no at her, though Lucy's expression softened at Natsu's slumped posture.

"Natsu... I'm sorry. I promise do a job with you next time. We're doing the 100 year quest soon, and I just want to spend time with the other guilds before we leave the continent, Alright?"

"Okay, you're the best! See you, be safe! Come here Ice Princess! Come and fight me!"

Juvia was stalking Gray nearby, and screamed: "You're so bold, Gray-sama!"

Gray, freaked out by Juvia and stripped down to his underwear stepped out from behind a tree.

"No thanks Natsu, it's not like you'll ever beat me. I'd just be wasting my time."

"What did you say Ice Princess?! And put on some goddamn clothes!"

"Don't call me that! Do you have a death wish Flamebrain?"

Natsu and Gray were head to head now and Yukino could feel their magic power beginning to flare.

"Okaaaay! Let's go before this gets ugly!"

Lucy grabbed Yukino's hand and they ran all the way to the town square. They heard huge explosions and saw flashes of flame behind them.

"Oh, Erza is so going to kill them. Honestly, they're just like kids. Did you see Natsu back there? And Juvia... I mean Juvia is Juvia..."

They headed to the outskirts of the city, walking on the country path to the village.

"So Yukino, what did you want to tell me?"

And so Yukino sheepishly told Lucy about all that had happened in the morning.

"Wow, I'm surprised Rogue of all people told you. He seems like the kind of person that wouldn't be interested at all in these things. But good for you!!! This is wonderful! I mean, you like Sting back, don't ya? Just casually ask him to have lunch with you and go on from there!"

"Yeah, I do... but I'm so weak. I can't do anything without my celestial spirit keys. What if I'm captured, and the guild is in danger, and he has to choose between the two? He's the guild master. He has to follow his duties without my interference."

Lucy stopped walking for a moment and looked Yukino right in the eye.

"Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, there was a celestial spirit mage who had doubts just like you. One day, she had been taken by an offending guild, and the person she cared about had annihilated an entire division, just to save her. Time after time, when she was exposed and weak, he saved her, over and over. She realized that his friendship and caring would never disappear, and that friendship was what kept the both of them going. In fact, she realized the very basis of her magic is based on partnership. The compassion and equality given to the spirits is the most important thing, and loving them was better than winning any battle. So she tries her best, to this day, to be the strongest she can, because she knows, her friends, guild, and soulmate, would always be with her. It didn't matter if she was weak in power; her will, her heart, would always be as strong as emotions."

"Oh Lucy, that was so beautiful! Thank you so much, that really boosted my confidence."

Yukino smiled. She knew the story had been about Lucy and Natsu,

"Of course, now let's go and complete the job! Also just so you know, I'll be rooting for you and Sting!"

Yukino blushed. "And I will for you and Natsu-san as well."

Now it was Lucy's turn to blush.

"Alright, Alright, I do love him. You got me."

Yukino giggled, and Lucy began to laugh too.

It was wonderful, both of them confiding in each other about the pains of their lives, the happiness of their days, the stupidity of their crushes, perfectly at ease.

The two celestial mages of Sabertooth and Fairy Tail, walking side by side, so much in common, so much different, but each with a dragon slayer in her heart.
