*Yet another lame time skip to 3 weeks later, after they leave, 5 weeks after the wedding*

(They are on their Honey Moon at Akane Resort)

[Sting]

Sting awoke to the sun's genial rays filitering through the blinds of the suite. He glanced at the dresser, where a alarm clock stood reading 11:48. His stomach grumbled so loudly he thought Yukino would be woken up. Beside him, Yukino slept on, her graceful features softly highlighted by the morning light. They had one whole day left at Akane Resort before they left tomorrow. It was the day to sleep in and relax. Yukino has been oddly tired the past two weeks, and he was sure the travel was finally wearing her down a bit. She had been getting a few headaches and dizzy these past few days, and he had given her some medicine. He decided to surprise her with some good ol' breakfast in bed. (Almost brunch too I guess.) As he tried to roll out of bed without disturbing her, she clutched his arm and would not let go, still asleep. He gently pried her fingers off of him and tiptoed out of bed, heading to the kitchen. Taking a skillet from the cupboard, he hummed as he opened the fridge door to get bacon and eggs, which they had bought the day before. The eggs and bacon were halfway done when Yukino walked in, so quietly he did not notice.

"Good morning, Sting. Wow, that smells wonderful. You're getting as good as Minerva."

"Haha, we both know that won't be happening anytime soon. You can go back to bed if you want, I was trying to make breakfast in bed. Good morning to you too."

Yukino wrapped her arms around him from behind.

"No, it's fine. I'll help. Then we can both have breakfast in bed."

They spent a half hour cooking up the most delicious breakfast they could, using one of Minerva's recipe cards that they had brought. She had insisted they take them, as they would "surely need her expert expertise." They were still getting used to the kitchen; they ordered takeout and ate out most of the days, but today was just one of those days where it felt right to cook.

The delicious aroma of scrambled eggs/bacon, glazed scones and fruit porridge soon filled the air. Sting almost immediately demolished the meal, not even to their room yet. Yukino laughed, her voice echoing in the unnaturally empty space, so different from home. About halfway back to their room, she stopped, absolutely still. Sting looked back at her, and she had a funny look on her face. She noticed Sting's concern and immediately shrugged it off.

"I'm okay, I just felt weird for a moment there."

He stared for a moment longer.

"I'm fine." She snapped, to his surprise.

His eyes widened. She never snapped. In fact, she looked almost as surprised as he did.

"I'm sorry. I'm just not feeling it this morning... I felt fine when I woke up, but..."

Sting felt horror rise in his chest. His human parents had both died of a mysterious illness, incurable by even the finest doctors available, starting from a few simple symptoms over a week. He had also been infected, but he was lucky. He couldn't bear the thought of losing Yukino.

"Do you need to see a doctor?"

"I said I'm fine! I just want to go eat."

"O-Okay." He stammered, nervous. Maybe it was just that time of month, and her mood was swinging like a pendulum.

"I'm so sorry, I promise I didn't mean it...I don't know why I'm like this today."

Her expression was heartbreaking, so close to tears. Sting rushed up to her and pulled her into a tight hug.
