[Yukino]
*A Month Later, September 17th*
Yukino twisted and turned in her bed, dreaming.
It was as vivid as yesterday, Jiemma smiling sadistically as he gladly excommunicated Yukino from Sabertooth, just because she had lost to Kagura. He had shamed her publicly, making her stand naked among her guild mates, humiliating her by making her erase her own guild mark. She remembered the guild's sneers and approval at her exile. Jiemma's intimidating face had loomed above her, as he said those final, unforgivable words:
"Get out of my sight, Trash."
Yukino woke with a start, panting and drenched in cold sweat.
Oh thank god, it was just a dream.
It was pitch dark in her room. She reached her hand out to look at her clock. Her eyes widened. How was it 8:00PM at night?! She never overslept, especially been for entire day. And why hadn't both of her alarms go off?
"Min-chan!" Yukino called.
No answer.
"Are you there?" Yukino called again.
Still, there was no answer, so she decided to get up and check. Minerva's room was deserted.
Maybe she's on a job or something, even though it's strange of her not to tell me beforehand. I'm actually kind of glad I rested extra though...these last few days I've been getting up super early and sleeping late to train and take on harder missions...
"Well, whatever. I guess I'll just stay home tonight." She said to herself.
I'd better go and eat something, She thought.
The lights downstairs were out, but when she flipped the switch, they didn't turn on.
That's really strange. I just changed the lightbulbs last week.
While Yukino wasn't paying attention, she accidentally tripped on her own foot and started falling down the stairs.
"Oof! Oww-"
Yukino gave out a muffled scream as she felt someone catch her with strong arms.
It was oddly dark, and she couldn't see the intruder's face at all.
"Ah! Who are you?! How dare you come into my home at night! I am a mage if Sabertooth and I have things to show for it!" She threatened, absolutely terrified for her life.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you, after all I am the one still holding you up."
A familiar voice said.
It can't be...
"AH?! Sting?!" Yukino shouted.
"What are you doing here?!"
"Well..." Sting trailed off. Yukino couldn't still couldn't see his face at all, but got the vibe that he was smirking.
"It's because it's your Birthday!!" He yelled, kissing her as the lights flickered on to reveal Minerva, Rogue, Lector, Frosch, Orga, and Rufus standing in the beautifully decorated living room.
There were shimmery balloons, fairy lights with the Sabertooth emblem on them, exotic floral arrangements, and decorative garlands draped onto furniture and stretched out around the entire room.
"Surprise!!" Everyone yelled.
Sting took his mouth off of hers, and grinned as Yukino gasped for breath.
"W-what? I-I never told anyone when mine was!"
"Sure ya did! You told me, once, right after we went looking for Frosch that one time she was lost!"
