*A Few Months Later, July 14th*
[Lucy]
The bustle of people outside the guildhall of Sabertooth had subsided gradually, as the mages filed into the luxurious building. Sabertooth had been decorated to the fullest, upgraded to a grand banquet hall. There were flower garlands of all colors, gauze decorations, fancy lights, and beautiful statues. A lacy ottoman was piled with gifts for the occasion, and the number of items only grew. There were tables topped with delectable platters of food, a mouthwatering aroma encompassing every room. Waiters and Waitresses where everywhere, serving food samples and exquisite drinks in crystal clear glasses. Everyone was chatting, happily exchanging greetings, and talking about the events for the night.
Of course, in the Fairy Tail corner, things were as rowdy as always. Cana, per usual, was drinking out of a barrel and frightening some of the bartenders with orders of more. Despite Juvia's attempts to get Gray to cuddle with her, Gray ran away and he and Natsu started to pick a fight as usual, getting quite loud. Gajeel yelled out "I fight winner!" and earned a slap on the arm as Levy scolded him. Gale, their son, stood near Happy and Lily as he begged them to give him a ride with aera. Rosemary, Erza and Jellal's young daughter, at the mere age of three, was already taking charge and keeping Gale from doing anything stupid with a look she had inherited from her mother. She eventually gave up and ran back into Jellal's arms.
Mira and Laxus talked casually, drinking as they discussed guild business and occasionally flirted. Freed was hiding behind a pole, watching and sobbing quietly, while Bickslow patted him on the back sympathetically. Elfman and Evergreen were acting the same old married couple way, fighting about literally nothing until they just began screaming "Man!" together. Wendy and Romeo were exploring the guildhall with Carla, who commented how cute they were together, now that they were officially dating.
Lucy and Erza were enjoying the view from the balcony, talking about how unruly their friends were, when they heard Natsu "Fire Dragon Roar" Gray, causing Erza to rush down the stairs, and fly into a satanic rage. Jellal came over, shielding Rosemary behind his back, and did every thing he could to stop a massacre. Despite his efforts, moments later, Natsu and Gray were out on the floor, as speculators onlooked with terror at the mighty Titania. The two mages had been beat up so bad they weren't even twitching. Jellal shrugged his shoulders apologetically at the crowd, which scattered far, far away. Rosemary mimicked her father, which made Erza come over and hug her tightly. Lucy saw and smiled. This was how everything was supposed to be.
Good thing they didn't get to destroy anything yet... Lucy thought, mentally predicting some kind of incident was bound to occur sooner or later.
Lucy went over to Natsu, and extended a hand. "Here."
"Thanks Luce..." Natsu said before his soul left his body and he slumped next to the table.
Lucy sighed, but put an arm around him fondly. They really never grew up.
"How are you doing back there, Yukino?" She wondered out loud. "I hope it's better than out here."
[Yukino/Minerva]
"How are you doing out there Lucy? I hope it's better than in here." Yukino murmured to herself. Then Yukino sneezed. Hm, someone must be thinking of me.
Minerva was doing the last of her makeup, when Lector and Frosch flew into their room, in a tuxedo and dress, both tired and scared. "Sting and Rogue-" Lector started, cut off as they heard the guys, even an entire hallway down, screaming and arguing, followed by a small explosion, and the crashing of furniture. Yukino was about to intervine, to go tell them not to ruin everything, but Minerva stopped her with a hand.
Minerva proclaimed: "I'll go. It's bad luck to see the bride beforehand, remember?"
Yukino smiled gratefully. Minerva smiled back. "I won't let anything, ANYTHING at all, ruin your special day."
Lector and Frosch stared at her with wide eyes. "Please don't hurt them! Or us!"
"I would never hurt you two, honey."
She stormed out of the room and into the guys' room.
"She didn't say she wouldn't hurt Rogue and Sting..." Frosch whimpered.
They heard the sound of the door being kicked open, and a shriek from Minerva. "We're changing!!" Rogue screamed. Pretty soon there even louder ruckus coming from their room, ending in indignant yelps from the two guys, followed by a feminine snarl, and the sound of heads smashing together, anime style. Minerva started lecturing the two of them, her voice becoming a monotone drawl, fading into the background.
Yukino adjusted her hair, and looked in the mirror at the girl staring back. She was just an ordinary girl, nervous for her wedding.
She had told Sting not to plan something as big and fancy, but he had only brushed the thought aside, saying the more the merrier. In the end, she had agreed, but now she was even more anxious as she thought of the sea of people waiting to see her go down the aisle. Since both her and Sting's parents were deceased, they would be walking down the isle alone, yet together. A wave of sadness washed over her as she realized how much she missed her family, and how much marrying Sting would remind her of them. It would also be strange, going on a month long trip with him on their honeymoon for just the two of them and none of the rambunctious guild members nearby. At Akane resort too, such a special place where they had been forced to sleep in the same bed.
"Yukino?" Lector waved his paw in front of her face.
"Yes, Lector dear?"
"You're crying..."
"Oh, I am! Silly me, I let my emotions get the better of me. I'm sorry, don't be worried." She said in a comforting tone, stroking Lector's fluffy fur. She wiped the barely noticeable tear away.
"Yukino, don't be sad. Whatever it is, you don't need to tell me. But just know that whatever happens, Sting will always be there for you. You were nakama before, and lovers then, and now to be wed."
"Thank you Lector. I feel the same way..."
Minerva came back through the door. She grinned. "I beat them up real well, but not noticeably. They'll be fine."
Yukino looked Minerva in the eye. "Thank you so much.. for everything you've done."
"Friendship doesn't need to be thanked...besides, what have I done?"
"You have always supported me and Sting, now being our Maid of Honor, and just so many small instances where you were there for me."
"You'll always be my best friend." She toppled Minerva over with a hug.
Minerva relaxed. "No, Yukino, thank you. You welcomed me back so well after I returned to the guild, and you were the one kindest to me. You will always be my best friend too."
They exchanged the words that couldn't be spoken through a simple glance.
"Now, let's get going with the wedding! You walk down that aisle like the proud woman you are."
