Fifteen

Chapter 19

It was later the evening and Maya was sitting inside the apartment of the Matthews.
She couldn't believe everything is as it is at the moment.
She is officially fifteen years and thinking that it is so crazy about her father and her half-brothers she'll never have caused.
She has three brothers.
She couldn't believe it neither could Josh when Maya told him.

"Maya why don't we take a break? Josh has something he wants to tell you," Riley said looking over at her uncle.
"Riley..."
"I gave you until tonight," Riley said.
"What is she talking about?" Maya asked.
"Josh likes you," Riley said and Maya froze.

She couldn't believe what she had just heard.
Was it even correct?
She looked as Shawn gave Josh a worried look as he just looked stared at her.
Immediately Maya decided that she had heard correct.
She stands up and goes out of the apartment before Josh could say anything.

"Thank you Riley," Josh said and stood up.
"She deserves to know what is going on," Riley said.
"I didn't tell her because she is under enough pressure with her father. I didn't want to tell her while she was dealing with the transformation," Josh said and went behind Maya.

After awhile he found her on the top of the roof at the edge.
He was scared what she would do to herself so he immediately went to her.
He sat down next to her and saw that she wasn't crying which was a good thing.
He sighed as he looked down at his hand not knowing what to say next.

"You didn't want to upset me," Maya said and Josh looked at her.
"You knew I was going through a lot with my father so you didn't want to tell them right then. Am I right?" Maya asked.
"I never want to hurt you Maya. I just wanted to wait for the right time to eventually talk to you. There was never a good time. You were busy with dealing with your father and then you got sick. I... I just wanted to wait until the time was right," Josh said.
"It's okay Joshua. I'm not mad. I just wish you told me yourself," Maya said.
"I wanted to. But when your niece is Riley Matthews it is difficult," Josh said.
"I'm not mad," Maya said and Josh smiled.
"I'm sorry," Josh said and Maya embraced him.
"It's okay. It's not your fault," Maya said and pulled away.
"We thought it was going to be easy but it is everything besides easy. And that's okay. We don't have to go through this everytime. I'm okay," Maya said.
"You are?" Josh asked.
"I am," Maya said and Josh gave her a box.
"Happy Birthday," Josh said and Maya opened the box finding a locket with a photo of the two of them.

"Thank you Josh," Maya said.
"Your welcome," Josh said.

He lifted up Maya's chin with his finger lightly and gave her a soft kiss.
The kiss was soft yet passionate in its own way.
