PIPER'S POV

There was an awkward silence after Piper's sudden burst of speech.

She cursed herself. She'd promised herself, while on the flight, that she'd keep her cool, but goddamn  Jason- infuriating her like no one else. Asking his stupid questions. Acting as if everything was fine.

Everything was NOT fine. Everything would not be fine, not until Piper was convinced he was good and like before- before he'd become that horribly selfish person.

She thought one year would have been fine. She was going to visit after one year; she thought Jason had the right to meet his son too.

She'd given him five years. After one year...Piper didn't feel like coming back. She was happy by herself and Josh. She'd only come back because it was Leo's wedding; she wouldn't have missed it for the world. And Annabeth's baby shower. She still felt so guilty for missing their wedding; she'd been truthful about that- she really couldn't make it at that time. Now she could, despite knowing that she had to meet Jason again.

Did she feel nervous on meeting him? Yeah, she did. She wanted to know how he was. She'd been tempted so many times to remove the charm that prevented anyone from Iris messaging her, just so she could talk to him, hear his voice. When she saw him at the airport, all the self control she had was vested in keeping still and not bouncing into his arms, and kissing him madly.

She'd felt relief, and joy. Then it turned to anger. Jason had hurt her a lot more than he knew. Well, now he knew, after her outburst, but still.

He'd looked so gorgeous. Messy blond hair, no longer in the Roman close cropped style, his groove above his right ear from Sciron the bandit still very much visible. His bright ice blue eyes, and gods, his scar above his lip that she loved so much. It used to disappear when he smiled. That hadn't changed at least.

But she noticed him more closely, and she could see his eyes were bloodshot, light circles under his eyes. He also hadn't been wearing his gladius, which was definitely not normal.

And gods, he'd been so infuriating!

Our kid. He kind of wouldn't exist if I hadn't been there.

Blush.

Stupid, stupid, stupid of her to show him how much his little replies were affecting her. At that time, she wanted to smack him, hard, as well as kiss him.

Talk about major conflict.

Now, as the others were staring at her, Piper decided to correct the situation.

"Um, sorry. Let's just drive, ok? I'm tired."

Percy nodded and started the car again. Piper was glad Percy wasn't mad anymore. The look he'd given her...Piper was scared of his glare, like many people were. He didn't glare much, but when he did, you knew you had to shut up.

Which reminded her of something.

"So, like, I know you all are busy and all, but...I have an accommodation problem."
