"Hey." Laura decided to stroll around the compound after putting Katherine to sleep when she ran into the doctor. He looked very professional in a black suit, black trousers and dark blue tie, knotted so perfectly.

She didn't know why, but she had a grand urge to run her fingers through his tie and across his well-groomed hair. He was sited on the children's pavement, staring at the sky.

He was a really handsome man.

She hasn't seen him since the night he made her feel things she couldn't explain.

"Hi." Jonathan had arranged a meeting with the detective who has been disturbing his office for a while. He had no time for flimsy wannabe detectives but he knew that his father being released after Laura's recovery was not a coincidence he wanted to let slide.

The last time he was with Laura, things - steamy things - had happened and he didn't want to push her too far, he wanted to let her recover. He needed her to.

She looked different and lovely in his white shorts and cute yellow top. He wanted to point that out but held his tongue. He wasn't sure she knew it was his shorts.

He wanted her so bad, in his shorts. He needed to be patient and let her get better.

But everytime he looked at her, it was like her eyes were begging for him to take her hard.

The last thing Jonathan needed was a clear sign that his wife, who didn't remember him enough, wanted him to take her to his bed and do things to her that if she could read his mind, he was sure she'd run away from him, far away.

He didn't want that.

"How long have you been out here?" Laura asked as she squinted her eyes from the sun.

"Not too long, I just came by." He dropped his gaze for her searching orbs, then gestured for her to come closer.

"You just came by?" Laury giggled at that as she walked up to him.

"Yes." He loved the way she giggled, the sound of it sent relief through his skin.

"You realise it's your house and you can come home anytime".

Our, Laury. Our house. He wanted to corrected her statement.

He didn't.

Home. That words had alot meaning to Jonathan but his home was with her and he needed that.

He missed talking to her. Now, with all these on his mind, he couldn't talk to anyone. He couldn't disturb her or way her down with anymore. She needed space. But he couldn't stay away, he just couldn't.

"Are you okay?" She tucked her loose hair behind her ear, as she licked her bottom lips nervously. She couldn't look anymore divine.

Was she nervous? Just like he was. That thought made him laugh.

"Did I say something funny?" She was closer to him now, sitting on the pavement as well but safely away from him, he wanted her closer.

"No, you just look so beautiful in the sun. And yes I'm okay, just had a long trip."

Laura felt a lovely amount of heat ride up her cheeks and between her legs from his rushed compliment. She wanted to ask him about his trip and why he didn't tell her about it, but instead she said, "Come in and rest then. Your mum made noodles and fried egg. She said you like light meals after a flight."

"Yes I do." He stood up and offered his hand to her. She took it and tried to hide her smile but couldn't. He made her feel like melted butter. She giggled again at her description of her feelings.

"I like the sound of that."

"Of what?"
"Of your giggles, it sounds divine with so much harmony."

Oh Jonathan are you a poet now? Remember not to freak her out, be cool. Jonathan chastised himself.

She smiled to him again, "Thank you Jonathan."

It's Nath. Laury, you always called me Nath. Once again he kept his thought to himself.

They walked into the house, hand in hand.

"Oh Laura darling, I was just looking for you. Oh, hey there Son!" Naomi moved in to hug her son as she dropped kisses on his cheek.

Jonathan was still mad at her for hiding her health issues from him. She had explained that it was never the right time and she was scared and still in denial of her sickness.

He had contacted specialized doctors to immediately run more diagnosis, after it was confirmed. They had put her on immediate, responsive medication. His mother had been stubborn at first but she gave up after she realized her sons were not backing down from her health.

Their mother was all they had and they weren't ready to loose her.

Jackson and his family returned to Lagos, their father release meant they needed to be together and alert. Though no one has heard from John yet. Everyone understood he loved his isolation but Jonathan expected him to return home hence the situation at hand.

"Hey Mom." He returned her hug and gave her a tight smile.

"I'm happy you're back son. I missed you."

"I missed you too Mom. Can I eat now?" He looked around for laury.

"She's in the library son. That's where she stays when Kathy is asleep. Somethings never change." Naomi had her overly bright smile on as she walked out of the dining.

Jonathan wondered why she was so happy about? Was it just him or did she seem relaxed?

Maybe the medications were working faster than they thought it would.

Jonathan sat to eat, he was really hungry. He thought of what his mom said.

Somethings never change.

He wished that was true, because everything has changed and more was yet to come.
