Musically In Love

Chapter 6

"Hi.... Camila?"

C: "Lauren?? Oh my gosh!! Hi!! You've got a pretty good memory.." Camila practically jumps into Lauren's arms unexpectedly and without thinking.

Lauren, quite surprised, loses her balance but catches Camila in her arms and smiles at how adorable Camila is behaving.

L: "I am honestly in shock right now. I thought I'd never see you again! And if I'm honest, I've been kicking myself for not calling after you that day in the park.."

Camila's eyes sparkles as her smile reaches her eyes. She suddenly realizes that she is probably hugging Lauren for way too long, so she slowly let's go. Lauren really is good with her words. That's one thing she remembered about Lauren. It must have been a coincidence that they bumped into each other- quite literally. But Camila knows, that she is very excited that she did.

"Chonch! Aren't you going to introduce me to your friend?" Dinah appears next to Camila, nudging her shoulder in an attempt to get an introduction.

C: "Oh, we're not actually..."

L: "I'm lauren, nice to meet you.." Lauren jumps in and holds her hand out for a handshake which Dinah takes in to hers, but instead of shaking it, pulls Lauren in for a hug.

D: "It's really great to meet you too!! Would you like to join Camila and I for a drink?" Dinah looks at Camila, suggestively raising an eyebrow while motioning towards the bar.

C: "Yes!! I mean.. Yeah, if you're not busy or anything?" Camila tries to play it cool.

L: "Of course. Thank you. I'd love to!"

The three girls walk to the bar together where they sat getting to know each other. Lauren asks questions about Dinah and Camila's friendship and they're really excited to tell Lauren stories about when they were growing up and how they became best friends. Dinah asks how Lauren knew Camila and Camila, who usually doesn't speak much, excitedly proceeds to set the scene that had occurred at the park that day.

C: "And she kicked me right in the shin!! I was ready to give her a mouthful until I looked up. I remember thinking that I had never seen eyes like yours before!! What colour are they, Lauren?"

L: "They're green.."

C: "They're not just green though, they've got some blue in them, and if the light catches it just right, you'll see brown and gold in them too.." Camila spoke passionately, before realizing that she was getting too excited again. She didn't know what it was, but Lauren had such an effect on her.

Dinah looks at Lauren and then at Camila suspiciously, who is now coyly playing with her hair. A small smile of realization spreads across Dinah's face and she leans in and whispers in Camila's ear that she is off to the ladies' and will be right back.

Camila just nods, not thinking much of Dinah's leaving or absence thereafter. Lauren picks up the conversation as soon as Dinah left the two them alone (which she notices is done purposefully).

L: "Soo, anyone special in your life at the moment? A boyfriend? Or?.."

C: "Oh, uhm no. I mean there was, but not anymore. What about you? You've got to have a boyfriend, what with those captivating eyes and beautiful, dark hair?" as soon as the words slip out, Camila wants to kick herself for the failed attempt at flirtation.

Lauren can't help but smile and blush at the compliment directed at her. She giggles and shakes her head as she takes a swig of her mojito before answering.
