chapter 10

Alisha POV

Well I guess I can't stay out of trouble for thirty minutes, but in my defense it wasn't actually thirty minutes so maybe it wasn't that bad. It ended up being four hours , maybe a little more since we got out of that car.  I lost track of time and so did Paola, we were having too much fun and that was part of the problem.  Apparently that "little strip" of isolated beach wasn't quite so isolated once we made our way to it.  There was a lovely little cabana set up and a private party going on with a group of humans from France. Nice people I might add, at least most of them were up until they weren't. 

I can see now where things went south, easy to do when your ass is parked in a hard wood chair  in front of a desk with a very pissed off male wolf staring at you. No idea where they took my friend but I know it's somewhere in this police station. Yep that's right , we are in a police station or what they call Policia Municipal here in Spain. This is definitely a new low for me, I've never been hauled in by the police EVER in my life and now when it matters the most for my career  here I sit .  

They even have silver handcuffs on me as if I would try to escape , one attempt was enough for me because now I'm in worse shit than before. Slamming your kneel into an officer of the law  nuts is wrong in any country and I should not have done it. But in my defense he wasn't wearing a uniform and he grabbed me from behind when I was helping Paola. I thought he was one of those idiots males in the group we were with.    Now he was sitting across from me  sending murderous looks my way for the last two hours while an ice bag is melting in his lap. His mate isn't going to be very happy for a long time with that out of action. 

Fuck it, he should have identified himself right off and then all of this could have been avoided.  I sigh and look away from him, searching the room for my friend. They separated once we got here and she wasn't anywhere in sight. I haven't seen her for over an hour .

"Where is my friend that came here with me? " I ask him nicely with a fake smile on my face. 

"She is being questioned" his reply was short and curt "You too will have your turn to explain your actions to the Beta"

This is going downhill quickly, one minute we are having fun with our new friends on the beach. Laughing, dancing and drinking some awesome wine.  Next I'm sitting here , my buzz totally gone now and looking forward to see this Beta. Apparently he handles  any human and werewolf issues, all the police here are pack members and he is the "Chief" of the force here. I just grateful it's not the Alpha I dealing with, maybe I can talk the Beta into seeing how it wasn't our fault and we didn't do anything wrong.  Maybe we can keep it between us  and  the Alpha wouldn't have to know about this little incident.  

That is my one and only hope of saving my internship here, I have to  gain some sympathy from him to overlook this. But if he's like the male in front of me, there is no hope of salvation and I'm going to have to look elsewhere for a new place to complete my requirements. This place was my first choice because of the benefits I'd reap from my connection to it. But that seems to be melting away just like the ice bag between that males thighs.

I hear a door open and see my friend Paola coming out followed by another officer. Like me she has silver handcuffs on , with her hands secured  in front of her. They don't bother me, I've worn a silver bracelet most of my life, but she isn't used to having her wolf suppressed and it's harder on her. She glances over at me and I can tell she's been crying. She is avoiding direct  eye contact but she looks rough, her face is puffy and so are her red eyes. I've never seen her cry before, she usually can talk her way out of anything . I can see her body slightly shaking as they move her towards another hallway.

This is all my fault , I shouldn't have pressured her to go to the beach. Because of me these assholes are making her stressed out and beyond upset.
