Alisha POV

I soon found myself between  both my parents standing back in front of Lucien's office door, I felt like a wayward child being taken to the principals office .  In a way I was, my parents were determined to talk out the issues I had with my "mate" including themselves in the conversation.  We were all going to be in this pack for a undetermined amount of time and according to Mom she "Didn't want this hanging over everything the  whole time" .  I couldn't argue with her logic , because if  I had to be here for months and that was very possible  at this point. I couldn't deal with the stress of avoiding each other, I would go nuts and take everyone down with me.

Mom didn't hesitate as she stood there and knocked softly.  She and Dad had been exchanging looks all the way here as I tried to drag my feet to slow this awful moment.  How bad is this going to look, a naughty mate having my parents  (more so my mother) trying to step in and solve our problems. I'm going to come off looking little a naive and idiotic little girl and there was no way I was going to be able to stop it.

"Come in " I hear Lucien's voice through the door and the sound of it made my heart give a little lurch. Damn mate bond.  Dad went first holding the door open  for me and  mom. Closing it sharply behind me causing me to jump a little at the sound.

"Alpha Lucien I'd like to introduce my mate   to you.  "  Dad's voice came from behind me as Mom stepped forward , pulling me alongside,  giving an slight nod of respect towards Lucien.

"I pleased to meet you Alpha Lucien, thank you so much for making the arrangements for me to join my mate and pup here in your pack." I internally cringed at her choice of words describing me, I'm never going to get used to that term. Anytime I hear it , thoughts of cute little doggies playing in youtube videos come to mind. Not wolf pups mind you but puppies like laboradors and such.  If I ever have children in the future no one better refer to them as pups my offspring will be refer to as babies.

"It was no trouble really I was happy to assist. Welcome to my pack Mrs Davis. " Lucien's voice was polite yet I couldn't bring myself to look directly at him yet. I looked everywhere else in the room but him, when my eyes met my mother's I could she the determination behind them. She smiled and looked back to where Lucien was standing, he must have gotten to his feet when we entered the room.

"Please call me Pat, after all you are my daughters true mate and I don't feel we need to be so formal."  Oh my fricking God I can't believe she just jumped into that topic so fast, she didn't even miss a beat her voice was so calm and soft. It carried no hint of any knowledge about the problem's the two of us have experienced, it just like she was talking about the weather.

The skin on my face went red hot from the top of my head downward  to my chest, I'm dying inside. Being a true ginger I knew I looked like a fire engine,my pale skin easily showed the change in color there was no hiding that.  If only the fire my skin was feeling would really melt me, I could just turn to a pile of goo and slide through the cracks in the hardwood floor. It was the only escape route possible out of here as Dad was in front of the door and Mom had a death grip on my hand. Lucien didn't even respond to that comment being thrown out there.

"Do you have the time to sit down with us and discuss some things we have questions about?" Mom wasn't going to be put aside easily as she was making her mission known to me. Poor Lucien had no idea what was coming, I knew my mom and she never knew the word stop when it came to embarrassing me.

" I have some time available, please have a seat"  His voice sounded so tired and weary, like he was just giving in.  I finally looked at him and it surprised me.  He looked so tired, his hair was  messy and I could see the bags under his sable brown eyes.  His clothes looked like he slept in them and I could even faintly smell unwashed skin. I couldn't help but feel sorry for him at that moment. So much pressure on him and he didn't have his family to help anymore.
