*Brian's P.O.V-*
-------------------------------------------------I move through the crowd of people in the cafeteria area, only holding an apple, not really being hungry after eating a huge meal this morning. I did bring money and wasn't planning on eating anything at all, I was planning on buying something for Roger, knowing he's been through a lot and he hasn't been replying to my messages all weekend. Once I found that he didn't show up in the first, third, or sixth period, I knew the money shouldn't go to waste so I bought an apple realizing he probably won't show up. Understandable.
I haven't seen Roger since Friday night, and he left without me knowing the next morning. I remember exactly what the note says in the usual sloppy handwriting on a small piece of notebook paper from my math notebook that was ripped out terribly. I remember reading it over and over and I can't stop thinking about it...
"Dear Bri,
Thank you for everything. I decided to leave early and go ahead and walk home myself. I need time to myself to think. Love you. No homo. ♡
-Roger Taylor
P.s.
I'll give your clothes back on Monday."I just hope he got home safely and that he's alright. He usually does reply to messages but I do understand if he won't right now. And I don't know when he's returning my clothes because he's not here today and it's Monday. Halloween Monday.
I finally spot my table, John and Freddie already sitting there, laughing about something. And there's John, almost forgot about what I and Roger need to talk to him about. I can't imagine how sad he would be, he seems really into Veronica.
I gulp and brace myself, finally walking to the table and going to my normal spot to sit down. Freddie immediately greets me with a grin, I can't even imagine Freddie's reaction most of all. It's as if he and John share each other's thoughts. And just like what I saw as soon as I walked into the halls on my first day, Freddie will act very protective.
"Oh, hey, Brian!"
"Hey... what are you guys on about?" I question, referring to their giggling tones, trying to start with a light-hearted conversation. John's back straightens and he grins at me, "I've been thinking about cutting my hair!"
Freddie chimes in, "Which is absolutely insane! I can't imagine you without Deaky hair!"
John giggles and shakes his head and flips his long brown hair back, "I'm tired of strangers and substitutes mistaking me for a girl. It's also hard to play tennis with, even when I tie it up, strands fly everywhere!"
Though this is an interesting topic to get into, I can't bring my mind away from what their reactions would be. "It might not look too bad," I say quietly, taking a huge bite from my apple, staring down at the table as if I'm bored.
We all go silent until Freddie suddenly clears his throat, "So, Brian. Do you have any idea where Roger is? I've texted him all weekend and there was no response. He usually answers me right away. And I'm shocked he's not at school today, it's his favorite Holiday!"
I only shrug my shoulders, thinking back to Friday night and I choose not to make eye contact with them. This will cause so much drama and break John's poor little heart and Freddie will probably try to break Veronica's face. There's another moment of silence, but I don't bother to look up at them. I analyze the apple I've bitten into and sigh gently, hoping the awkwardness would stop now that I'm here.
"Brian," John speaks up, causing me to finally peer up from my apple and at him in the eyes. He has a confused expression on his face that scares me even more to tell him. "Do you know something that we don't?"
