"what do you think it means to be in love?" he asks.

"well-" i say as i sit myself down on the kitchen island counter -"i think being in love means that you've become so obsessed with this one person, but a good obsessed, that you'd do anything to make them happy. but i also think that if you're really in love, it'll feel good and you'd never lose sight of yourself either, ya know?"

jack wipes down the other counter one more time and turns toward me, taking a couple of steps in my direction.

"ok but what if you're in love with someone and you can't have them?" he asks in a lower voice.

"well then i guess, you're gonna have to love with that. being in love means that you want to keep that person happy forever, even if you're not necessarily their 'happy'."

his hand land on either side of my body.

"can i ask you something? as a friend?"

"yeah, for sure g."

"i really like this girl and i can't find a way to tell her. you wanna give me some advice?"

i nod.

"i mean, you just tell her. don't be shy."

he leans closer and it's almost like i can feel his breath fanning over me.

"but how do i tell her?" he says, a smirk heavy on his voice.

i close my eyes and all of a sudden, i can't control what i say next.

"just kiss her." i breathe out.

"like this?" he whispers before he closes the gap between us.

his lips move against mine and it's like we're meant to be like this, lips intertwined.

his rough yet soft hands cup my face and my arms go around his neck.

he pulls away and rests his forehead against mine.

"so-" he says with a small smile -"you think she likes me back?"

i giggle.

"i think for her, it's been you all the time."

"for real?"

"yeah, it's you and it'll always be you."

he smiles and kisses me again.

"i can do this forever." he finally says.

"yeah, me too."

ok so this is gonna be a three part "flash series." i don't know where i got the inspiration to do this but i just thought it'd be a really good idea and plus, anything to even remotely link to one of zayn's songs is a win for me. love y'all, thank u for 23k reads n for sticking by me even if i haven't updated in like a month. thank u <3
