Chapter 15

Ashley's POV:

Why? Why oh why did I have to like Nolan. Out of all the guys in the world, my heart chose my twin's best friend, Ashton's gonna kill me. He would never approve, I'm gonna die. I looked over at Dad and saw that he was giving me knowing look.

"Finally realised it?" He asked, I glared at him and he just chuckled.

"Hey, what are we talking about?" Mom asked leaning towards us.

Dad looked around making sure no one was listening and said, "She likes Nolan." Mom beamed and looked at me in disbelief.

"Omg no! No you don't! But, that means I was wrong. Never mind that, you like him!" She exclaimed, Dad was quick to cover her mouth before any of the others noticed.

"Amanda, be quiet! Ashton doesn't know yet, and he's not gonna know." Dad said and uncovered Mom's mouth, she pouted and crossed her arms like a little kid and sat on his lap.

"But that's not any fun." She said, I almost laughed at my Mom's childish behaviour but then they started being cute and all.

"Baby, you just need to wait until they finally confess to each other. Ashley just got out of the denial stage." Dad explained to her

"But-" 

"But nothing, Amanda. You're gonna stay quiet about it, okay?" He said, Mom huffed and nodded her head.

"You guys are too cute." I said and shook my head.

"Thanks, pumpkin. Do you want anything to eat? God, we forgot to ask. You must be starving." He asked

"Yeah, can someone get me some McDonalds? I want me some McDonalds." I asked

"Your Mom and I will get it for you." Dad said, Mom protested but Dad gave her a stern look, she pouted and nodded her head. Mom grabbed her purse and Dad dragged her away.

"What's up with Mom?" Ashton asked

"I don't even know anymore sometimes." I chuckled

"Well I'm gonna get something from the vending machine, want anything?" He asked me

"No thanks, got my pop tarts here from these two." I said pointing at the kids, he smiled and nodded his head. He started walking out, but Nathan and Dale stopped him.

"Can we go with you?" Dale asked, Ashton raised and eyebrow and gave them a confused look.

"Didn't you guys just go to the vending machine?" He asked

"Yeah, but now I'm 10 bucks richer?" Dale said, Ashton rolled his eyes and nodded his head.

"Alright, Nolan take care of my sister. Don't leave her side." Ashton said to Nolan, he nodded his head and gave a little salute

"Course, I'd never leave her." He said, what the hell is that supposed to mean? Why do I feel like there's a double meaning to that?

"Okay, well let's go." Ashton said and pushed the kids out the door and walked out leaving Nolan and I all alone.

Well this isn't awkward at all.

Nolan's POV:

When Ashton and the kids left, Ashley and I were now left alone with each other. Certainly not awkward at all.

"So..." I said and trailed off, she looked at me and let out a small smile.

"So, who's the lucky girl?" She asked, huh?

"Girl? What girl?" I asked, she cocked her head and let out a chuckle.

"The girl that Nathan and Dale made a bet about because of you." She said, oh.

"Oh, that girl. Well Dale got it all wrong, she doesn't like me. But, I do like her and all, it's just that I can't date her." I said, it's true though. I can't date her, Ashton would never allow me to do so. All because of that pact we made in Freshman year. 

"Why not?" She asked

"Well she has umm, she has strict parents. Yeah, that's it. She has strict parents." I said, I could never tell her that she's the girl that I like, she'd never like me back and Ashton would kill me.

"Nolan Price finally gonna settle down on a girl? Hmmmm sounds interesting." She said, I shook my head and laughed.

"It ain't gonna happen now, like I said she doesn't like me back." I said, she frowned and sighed.

"You know, Nolan, you should find a girl. You playing around isn't gonna make you satisfied." She said

"I know, Ashley. I know that that girl is the one for me, but I can't do anything about it. She doesn't like me and her parents are really strict." I said lying through my teeth. I don't like ling to Ashley, I never did, but in this case it seems like I do.

"If you think that she's the one, you will fight for her and wait till she's ready or her parents are ready." She said giving me a smile, that smile that I would swim through oceans to see, that breathtaking smile.

"You really think so?" I asked her, she looked hesitant but she nodded her head.

"Yeah, I know so. If she's the one, then she'll be worth fighting for." She said, I sighed and walked towards her. She's right, it's time that I fight for her, no matter what Ashton says, I'm gonna fight for her. He's not gonna stop me from getting the girl I know. She looked at me confused but I just cupped her cheek and looked her in the eye. I smiled and leaned in to whisper in her ear.

"I'll fight for you, Ashley." 

Ashley's POV:

"I'll fight for you, Ashley." He whispered in my ear, he leaned back and looked me in the eye again. I felt my heart beating erratically in my chest as he whispered those words in my ear.

"W-what?" I stuttered out, I'm not hearing things, am I?

"You said fight for the girl that I like, and so I'm gonna do it." He said 

"T-then why are you doing t-this?" I asked, why the hell am I stuttering so much?

"Because you're the girl, Ashley. You've always been the one for me." He said, I felt my eyes widened and I just stared at him.

"But you said that the girl's parents were strict, my parents are not strict whatsoever." I said finally not stuttering.

"I partially lied, I was mostly talking about your brother. You know how protective he can get, and then there's the rule." He said, he stepped back and removed his hand from my cheek taking the warmth with him.

"I still don't get all of this." I said and slumped in the bed trying to not to squeal, I so need to tell Hazel and Matt about this. I'm itching to squeal. Nolan was about to say something when the door opened and in came Ashton, Nathan, and Dale. 

"I don't get why you two came anyway, you didn't even get anything." Ashton said as he plopped himself on the couch. Nathan and Dale looked over to Nolan and Dale gave him a smirk and Nathan gave me a knowing look. 

Those two little squirts! They purposely left Nolan and I alone. Jeez, since when were these two cupids?

Nolan looked over to me when Ashton wasn't looking and gave me a wink making me blush.

Holy muffins, why does he have to do that?! 

I looked away from him and grabbed my pop tart. I opened it up and took a bite trying to ignore Nolan

I walked right into his trap, didn't I?

I just hope that he wasn't fooling around or anything, because that would just suck and I would probably kick his ass out of my house.

Nolan Price, what the hell are you doing to me?
