Chapter 43

Ashley's POV:

I've been sitting on my bed thinking about Nolan and I couldn't help but think that he was with Sophie. I shook the thought away and laid on my back and stared at the ceiling. No, Ashton would've told me if Nolan was at a girl's house, right? I'm being paranoid again, Nolan and I haven't been dating for long and he did have a reputation of being a player not too long ago. He wouldn't do that to me though, he won't cheat, he's changed, right?

I heard a knock on my door and I sat up, the door opened and I saw Ashton poke his head inside.

"Hey" He smiled, I forced out a smile and said a quiet 'Hi' in return. He walked in and sat beside me on my bed.

"Mom told me about your little paranoia" He said, I groaned and plopped back down on my bed.

"I understand why you're paranoid, sis. I saw how Paisley acted with the situation of me and Sophie, she was all over me and Paisley saw that. I can't even imagine what she was thinking at that moment. She and I just got together and I'm already screwing things up with us." He said, I looked at him and he was looking down at his fingers.

"You're not screwing things up, Ash." I told him sitting back up again

"I mean I guess, but the thing with Sophie and I...I didn't stop her. She was touching me and i didn't stop her from doing so, she was so close to me and I didn't even push her away. I don't know why I didn't push away and tell her that I had a girlfriend, but because of that I hurt Paisley and we got into an argument." He said looking at me an I was kind of confused as to why he's telling me this.

"I can see the confusion in your eyes; I'm telling you this because this is Sophie we're talking about, I know that she's new and all and that I shouldn't be so judgmental but she seems like trouble." He said

"Trouble?" I asked

"What I mean is that even when she saw that Paisley was coming over to us, she didn't stop flirting with me. All I'm trying to say that I get why you're so paranoid, I'm not saying not to trust Nolan, but you should keep an eye on him and Sophie." He said, I sighed and looked him in the eye.

"Do you think he's with Sophie?" I asked him, his eye twitched and I already knew the answer to my question.

"He is, isn't he?" I asked, he looked down again and nodded his head.

"It's her first day and she's already taking him to her house?" I asked in disbelief and then I realized that Ashton lied to me.

"You said you didn't know where he was." I said in a quiet voice, he was about to say something but the door opened and in came Dad and he looked in between Ashton and I.

"Is everything okay here?" He asked, I let out a small smile and nodded my head. I walked over to him and gave him a hug.

"Yeah, everything's fine. Ashton and I just finished talking." I said, I pulled away from him and looked at Ashton. He got the message that I didn't want to talk to him and looked at Dad.

"Yeah, it was just some school stuff, nothing too serious. I'll go to my room now." He said passing by Dad and walking out of my room.

"Are you two okay?" Dad asked once Ashton was out of my room.

"Yeah, we're fine." I lied, he looked at me like he didn't believe me but decided to leave it be.

"Well okay, I just checked in to see if you two were here." He said, I nodded my head and he kissed my forehead.

"Dinner is in 30 minutes." He said opening the door

"Okay" I simply answered and he walked out leaving me alone in my room.

I might be making a big deal out of this but can you blame me? What Ashton said just made me worry even more, Nolan didn't even tell me he was going to hang out with a friend, let alone Sophie. I can't even even deal with ths right now, I might just skip dinner and go to sleep early. I got up and walked out of my room; I went down to the kitchen and saw Dad making dinner and Mom sitting down on the counter beside him.

"Hey Hon." Mom said when she noticed me walk in, Dad turned to me and smiled.

"Hey sweetie, you hungry?" He asked and I just shook my head.

"I'm not feeling too good; I might just skip dinner and head to bed. Is that okay?" I asked, the both looked at each other before looking at me again.

"Sure honey, do you need any medicine?" Dad asked me before putting the spatula down and walking towards me. He placed the back of his hand on my forehead and I just pulled away.

"I'm fine Dad, I'm just really tired." I said, he nodded his head and kissed my head. Mom carefully jumped off the counter and gave me a hug.

"Sleep well, Hon. I love you." She said, I smiled and wrapped my arms around her.

"I love you too, Mom." I said, I pulled away and smiled at both of them before walking out of the kitchen and walked back up the stairs. I saw Ashton walk out of his room and he looked at me, he opened his mouth to speak but I stopped him.

"Not now Ashton, I'm tired; I'm going to go to bed now maybe some other time." I said, I didn't even bother waiting for a response and just walked into my room and locked the door before jumping on my bed. I don't usually lock my door but because I'm kinda mad at Nolan and I'm positive that he's coming in here later therefore I locked it so he can't get it as well as Ashton. it may seem really childish but I can't really deal with them anymore.

I looked at my phone and saw that it was still pretty early. It was 7pm and I decided to go on my phone a little bit just until I fall asleep. About 30 minutes later, I found myself slowly falling asleep and I welcomed the tiredness with open arms.

*The next morning*

I woke up earlier than I was supposed to and I saw text messages from Nolan when I checked the time.

Nolan: Hey babe, I just got back

Nolan: Why did you lock your door?

Nolan: Babe?

Nolan: Baby are you there?

Nolan: I just talked to your Dad, he said that you went to bed early because you weren't feeling good. I hope you're okay, I'm sleeping at my house tonight and I'll see you first thing in the morning.

Nolan: I love you, Ashley Matthews.

I didn't even text back, instead I decided that I would get up early just so I won't have to ride with those idiots later. It's still about quarter to 7 and I assume they're still sleeping. Maybe I can go to Starbucks or something and then go to school after. School doesn't start till 8 something so I've got time that's for sure.

I don't really want to go to school because of the whole Nolan and Sophie situation but I don't really have a choice now do I? I went to the bathroom and decided to get ready for the day.

Once I was done, I looked at myself in the mirror and checked that I had everything before leaving my room and walking down to the kitchen. Mom and Dad were still probably sleeping so i guess it's probably best to leave a note or something to let them know I left early and so they wouldn't worry.

hey mom and dad, I'm leaving this note to tell you guys that I left early. I'm going to walk today, here are the keys to the car for Ashton, I'll see you guys later, I love you.

After writing the note, I left it on the counter along with the keys to Ashton and I's car. I walked out of the kitchen and walked over to front door before walking out of the house and beginning my walk to Starbucks.

Here is another update for guys!! I hope you like this chapter, it's just kind of a filler chapter and I I hope that's fine. I can't really think of much because I just got a lot going on with school, but it's the weekend so I think I would be able to write more chapters after finishing the remaining school work I got. Anywaysss, thank you for reading this chapter I'm working on a new one now, I love you guys so much!!
