Sequel of 'Loving My Best Friend"!
Ashley Matthews and Ashton Matthews, the adoptive children of Amanda Matthews (Jones) and Christian Matthews. They've definitely been through a lot, but that doesn't stop them from living a simple and normal life...
"Nolan! Oh, look how much you've grown." Aunt Alyssa said and pulled her daughter off of him and pulled him in her own embrace. Nolan chuckled and wrapped his arms around her, his gaze turned to me and he gave me a small smile. Ashton noticed and wrapped his arms around my shoulder. I looked up at him and he gave me an encouraging smile.
"It'll be all good, why don't you just talk it out with him?" He whispered in my ear, I sighed and leaned my head on his shoulder.
"It's really not that easy, Ashy." I said, he nodded his head and placed a kiss on my forehead.
"Everything will turn out just fine, you don't need to worry. I can already tell that that guy is madly in love with you." He said and I just chuckled and shook my head.
"So, I'm gonna go start dinner and you're coming with me." Mom said grabbing Dad's arm and dragging him to the kitchen followed by his groaning.
"Yeah, we'll help." Aunt Alyssa said and pulled Uncle Nate's arm and followed Mom and Dad. We were left with our cousins, and Nolan. Great, just great.
"So, how have you guys been?" Nolan asked our cousins. Nolan has met our cousins loads of times and is as close to them as Ashton and I are.
"We're good, school's been hectic. Who knew high school was gonna be so tough." Shane said, Nolan chuckled and ruffled his hair making Shane slap his hands away.
"Hey, watch the hair!" He exclaimed, I rolled my eyes, guys and their hair jeez. We all went to the living room and sat down on the couch.
"Olly!! Did you know that Mommy and Daddy bought me a car?! It's a really cool car and when I first got it, I drove it around the neighbourhood with Shane following me around!" Shaun exclaimed, Morgan starting giggling and Shane rolled her eyes. Also, yes, Shaun calls Nolan, Olly. It's pretty cute if you ask me....just saying.
"That was not funny, he literally drove all around the neighbourhood and I had to follow him because Mom and Dad were afraid he was gonna drive all the way to town." He said, we all laughed and I caught a glimpse of Nolan and saw that he was looking at me. Can this get any more cliche? Oh my gosh. I looked away and I saw Ashton stifling in a laugh as he saw my face when I saw Nolan looking at me, and I just nudged him in the stomach and he groaned.
"Ashley, why'd you hit Ashton?" Shaun asked, all their heads turned to us and I just let out a smile.
"He was being a meanie." I said, Ashton slapped my arm and I just glared at him. Nolan stood up and walked towards me and stopped once he was in front of me.
"Ashley, can we talk outside for a minute?" He asked, I was stunned at his question. I didn't think he'd want to talk to me after our argument earlier. I looked at Ashton and he gave me an encouraging smile. I looked back at Nolan and gave him a smile.
"Sure, we can talk in the backyard." I said, he smiled and nodded his head. We both excused ourselves and then walked to the backyard. We walked over by the pool and sat on the sunbathing chairs. We sat across from each other and stayed in silence for a few minutes before he spoke up.
"So, uhm, I just wanted to tell you something." He said, I nodded my head and gestured for him to continue.
"I know that we didn't end things that well earlier, not that there was something to end, but I just want you to know that I'm not giving up on you, Ashley. I'm not giving up on us, I'm gonna do everything for us to be together. I'll even ask Ashton for permission, I'll do anything." He said, he then leaned forward, cupped my cheek with his hand, and leaned in. Our lips touched and our lips moved in sync. Tears were rolling down my cheeks at how willing he was to work out our relationship.
We pulled away and he looked me in the eyes.
"I love you, Ashley Matthews, and I'm not gonna stop loving you. I'm not gonna stop pestering you until you're mine." He said and pecked my lips one last time before standing up and walking away. I stood there astonished as to what just happened. I wiped the tears that fell and thought to myself.
Maybe he isn't that bad after all.
*The Next Day*
I woke up the next day with Morgan jumping on my bed singing at the top of her lungs.
"DON'T CHANGE, EVERY PART OF YOU IS JUST RIGHT! DON'T CHANGE, NOT A SINGLE CURVE OR ONE LINE! SO WHY COVER UP YOUR FLAWS WHEN THEY MAKE YOU WHO YOU ARE, OH OH! ALL I'M TRYIN' TO SAY IS DON'T CHANGE!" She sang, I covered my ears and sat up and glared at her.
"Gosh, you and Ashton are so alike." I complained remembering the time when Ashton decided to wake me up with a song.
"I just watched The Ugly Dolls and there was a Why Don't We song there, and I loved it!" She exclaimed sitting down beside me. I looked over at my clock and saw that it was about 8 in the morning, I guess it's alright. It's not too early.
"What do you want, Morgan?" I asked her
"Mom, Dad, Aunty Mandy, and Uncle Chris is leaving already, they made breakfast and they just wanted me to wake you up." She explained, I nodded my head and she got off my head and shot me a big smile. How can she be so cheery in the morning? What the actual hell. Was I like that when I was a kid? Oof.
"Alright then, go ahead. I'll be right down." I said, she nodded her head and skipped out the room humming Don't Change, I smiled and shook my head at her. She likes Why Don't We as much as I do.
I went to my bathroom and got ready for the day. I did my usual routine and got into some clothes.

After getting changed, I grabbed my phone checked my appearance one last time and walked out the room. I skipped down the stairs and into the kitchen to see everyone chatting and laughing. I even saw Nolan in here and he was playing with Shaun, which I find very cute by the way. It make me think of the even of last night, how he kissed me and how he made me heart skip a beat.
Maybe I was wrong, maybe he can change his ways. After all, everyone has a chance to change.

I didn't know what to write, but I wanted to update for you guys because it's been so long and I know you guys are dying for an update, hahahahaha.
