Chapter 31

Ashley's POV:

I watched everyone's excitement to Mom's news about the baby and it just warms my heart. Nolan wrapped his arm around my waist and looked down at me.

"I can tell how happy you are from a mile away." He chuckled, I smiled and wrapped my arms around his torso.

"I am happy, I'm so excited for this little bundle of joy. You know how I am with babies, they're a new shine of life, they're a blessing to all of us." I said, he smiled and kissed my forehead.

"You, Ashley Matthews, are just simply incredible." He said, I chuckled and buried my face in his chest. Moments like these make me cherish life, everyone's happy. My mom is having another baby, and everyone is just beaming with happiness. I felt a tickle on my leg, I looked down and saw Bailey looking up at me. I chuckled and picked him up.

"Hey Bud, are you liking your new family?" I asked him, he stuck his tongue out and licked my face all over.

"I guess his answer is a yes." Nolan said petting his head.

"We picked a great dog." I said looking at up at him, he chucked and nodded his head.

"Yes, yes we did. He's perfect for this family, quirky and very energetic." He said, I laughed and shook my head.

During our time of happiness, the doorbell rang and we all looked at each other. 

"Don't worry, I'll get it." I said, I passed Bailey to Nolan and straightened out my outfit before walking out the living room and going to the front door. I opened the door and was shocked to see who was here.

"Isabelle, Owen, what are you guys doing here? I thought you weren't supposed to be here till next month." I said giving both go them a hug, though they both have not been in Nolan and Dale's life much, they were still great parents and I know that they love their children to bits, but Nolan doesn't know that. He thinks that all his parents care about are their jobs. I can't blame him though, every kid needs their parents.

I shook the thoughts out of my head and looked at Nolan's parents, "Come on in, everyone's here. Your timing's perfect." I smiled at them, I opened the door wider for them to come in. They walked in and I saw Nolan walk out. He smiled when he saw me, but it disappeared when he saw who was with me.

I sighed and walked towards him, "Babe, please be nice, they're your parents." I whispered in his ear, he looked down at me and at his parents. He looked back down at me and sighed. He kissed my forehead and looked at his parents.

"I'm surprised to see you guys here, I thought you weren't supposed to be home till next month." He said emotionless, his parents looked at each other and then looked at me, I gave them a sympathetic smile and held onto Nolan's arm.

"Yeah, we were supposed to arrive next month, but things were going great at work and we decided to go home to surprise you guys." Isabelle exclaimed, I looked up at Nolan to see his reaction and I saw him plaster a fake smile. I sighed and looked back at him parents.

"That's great, I'm sure Dale would be happy to see you guys." He said, I then decided to step up.

"Why don't you join us everyone else in the living room? Mom just had an important announcement and I'm sure everyone would be surprised to see you guys here." I suggested, they both smiled and nodded their heads. I both lead them to the living room leaving Nolan standing there alone. I then let this parents and went back to him.

"Are you okay?" I asked him, stupid question, I know, but what the hell am I supposed to say? He looked down at me and sighed.

"Not really, why did they have to come now? Everything's going so well." He said

"Babe, why don't you just give them a chance? You know, they're working really hard to provide for you and Dale. They love you very much, babe." I said, he wrapped his arms around my waist and then buried his face in my neck.

"I'm glad I have you though, you're always here to cheer me up. I don't know why the heck I didn't decide to pursue you earlier. I love you so much." He said, I smiled and held onto him tight er.

"I love you too, Nolan." I said, I sighed in content and pulled away from his embrace.

"Nolan, can I ask you something?" I asked

"Of course, what is it?" He asked

"You know that your parents love you, right?" I said, he frowned and looked down. I immediately felt bad for ruining the mood but I needed him to know that his parents loved him and his brother.

"I know that they love me, Ash." He said, I looked at him confused and he sighed.

"I'm not upset with them because I think they don't love me, I'm upset with them because they're always not around. I basically raised Dale, they're never around. They're just here for special occasions. All I want is for us to be a happy family, like yours." He said whispering the last part, I frowned and cupped his cheek.

"I'm sorry you feel that way, babe. You know that they're gone because of their job, right?" I asked, he nodded his head and leaned into my touch.

"They're working because they want to provide for you, they're working to give you everything you want, they're working for you guys." I said, he looked me in the eye and I saw the pure sadness in his eyes.

"I just want them by my side, I don't want all this expensive things, I want them to be with me." He said, I felt his longing for his parents and wrapped my arms around him. 

"I'm sorry, baby. Why don't you just talk to them about it?" I suggested, he tightened his grip on me and bread his face in my neck.

"It's not that easy, Ash." He mumbled

"You know you have to though." I said playing with his hair, he sighed and mumbled a 'yes'. 

"Good, now why don't we go back to the living room and celebrate my new sibling." I said trying to lighten up the mood. He lifted his face away from my neck and gave me a small smile.

"Thanks, babe. I love you." He said with his eyes staring into my soul. I smiled back and nodded my head.

"I love you too, now let's go." I said, I grabbed his hand and interlocked our fingers. He smiled down at our hands and brought it to his lips planting a kiss on my knuckles. 

It's official, I made the right decision.

I'm so sorry for the late update, I'm trying to speed up the updates but I'm running out of ideas for this story. I know how I'm going to end it, but I don't know what I'm gonna put in between, ugh! I'm sorry, again, but I'm really gonna try updating more for you guys. I love you guys so much, I hope you guys don't stop supporting me!!
