As Luke and Maryse stepped out of the portal in front of the New York institute, their eyes widened at the sight before them. The institute was in ruins. As Luke walked closer he saw Shadowhunter's corpses scattered around.

Tears gathered in his eyes at the sight. Some of the deceased Shadowhunters were friends of him. He had to find Clary and the rest. He was praying to the Angel that they weren't in the institute when this mess happened.

"By the Angel", Maryse said while slapping a hand in front of her mouth, tears glittering in her eyes.

"Ave Atque Vale", Luke said in a prayer, mourning for his fellow Shadowhunters.

"Do you see that?" Raziel asked Clary- who was still tied to the chair- while holding a tablet in front of her face. The tablet held images of the institute.

"You bastard! What did you do?"

"I just merely opened the gates of Heaven", he retorts while putting the tablet away.

"Don't you mean Hell?" Clary questions while arching a brow.

"I was up for a challenge", he shrugs.

What Raziel didn't know was that Clary had been conjuring a plan up in her mind for escape. That idiot wasn't as smart as they said.

As Jace woke up, he saw dust particles flying through the air. He coughed and looked around him, squinting his eyes when the sun shone in his eyes. He was surrounded by rubble and much dust.

"Izzy?" he called out.

"You're awake", a voice claimed when he stood up.

A beautiful woman stood before him. She had silver hair that reached her waist and soft facial features that made her seem kinder. A golden dress clung to her body like a second skin, a chiffon cape lightly dragging across the floor. She looked regal, almost angelic.

"Who are you?" Jace asked wary, ready for anything that might come at him.

"I'm just a person helping another person. You should be wondering what I am", she smiles at him, showing a set of white teeth.

"Then what are you?" he asked slowly. He saw that this woman had power, the kind of power that he didn't know the extent of.

"You could call me the niece of the Angels. The one they vaguely hear about but don't know more about", she explains while bringing a humid cloth to his forehead, lightly dabbing.

After hearing what she said, he stood up very fast with a confused look on his face.

That explained the faint golden glow around her.

"Where am I?"

"You," she pointed at Jace, "are in the place we call the Ad In-Inter. The place where all the deceased Shadowhunters go to when they're, well. . . Deceased. But, fortunately for you, Michael owed you one apparently. So he's going to let you go back to the Mortal Realm on one condition", she explained.

Jace still didn't understand much what the woman was saying. He needed to find his sister.

"Where's Isabelle?" he blurted out.

"Your sister, I assume?" she raised a brow. Jace nodded.

"She's already back in Alicante. I knew that you wouldn't be able to defeat Raziel without Clary's parabatai". She smiled at him.

"What's the condition?"

"You have to hand Raziel over to Lilith when you capture him", she had a glint in her eyes that he couldn't decipher.

"But then Lilith would be able to unleash Hell on Earth. . . Literally", the Shadowhunter did not try to mask his confusion.

"Do you want to live or not?" the woman snaps at him.

Jace saw the bright sun being replaced by ominous dark clouds. The winds were picking up too. A shiver raked his spine when he saw the nightmare-like creature in front of him. The golden dress of the woman was replaced by a pitch-black one, holes covering the fabric. It looked like black mist was coming out of her eyes and ears, razor-sharp teeth covered behind her blood-red lips.

As he looked around, he saw the once bright flower-field now completely dead.

"What are you?" he asked, now totally terrified.

"I am your greatest nightmare, honey. And you have no idea what's coming", was the last thing he heard before he was back in Alicante.

Phew! That was a lot!

Sorry for the wait, my lazy ass found itself in Disneyland Paris for 3 days. It was awesome, though, even if I still hear the Disney Parade music in my head. The downside of the trip was that the electricity of the attractions went out for like 3 hours. So, we couldn't do any rides for 3 hours straight. They fixed it, though.

Love to you all,
