Chapter 8

{Uraraka p.o.v.}
I knock on Hatsume's door since it's Saturday. The day of the sleepover. I'm a little nervous, I've never done this so I don't know what to expect. I already can tell that I'm going to embarrass myself.
Hatsume opens the door and squeals, "Uraraka, you came! I didn't think you'd actually come since you seemed scared about it. You're going to have so much fun, trust me." She pulls me in the house and into her room. "She's here!" I look past her and see Asui, Yaoyorozu, Ashido, Jiro, and Hagakure I think. They gasp and get excited that I actually came. I didn't think it would be a big deal but I guess sleepovers are more important than I thought.
"Okay, first we're going to have a pillow fight and then watch TV."
"A pillow fight?" She hits me with a pillow and laughs. "Yes!" We all start hitting each other with pillows for a while and screaming and laughing each time we fall over.
When we watch TV, it was mostly romance and comedies. The romantic genres were a little awkward to me but the others were in awe when attractive characters showed up. Sleepovers aren't that bad. Doing each others hair, pillow fighting, movies with popcorn, snacks, and singing.
I'm glad I came to my first one.
When the movie's over, we all get in a circle.
I wonder what we're doing now.
"Okay! Time to talk about our crushes!"
W-Wait what....?
"Ummm haha, why?"
"It's fun! Talking about who we like is secret anyway."
"But isn't that private in general?"
"Are you scared?"
"Well yeah but-"
"Perfect!" I sigh and shrug.
"Hagakure you're first!"
We look at her, "Umm, I kind of like Koda."
"He doesn't even say anything."
"You can't even see me."
"True. Okay, Asui!"
"I don't really like anyone. I'm in that phase that I just want to be single for now."
"Understandable. Your turn, Ashido!"
"Honestly, I like Tokoyami. He's so mysterious and cool."
"He's a freaking bird."
"I'm freaking pink."
"Obviously. Jiro!"
But when Ashido said that, Asui looked pretty bothered by it.
She lied about not liking anyone.
"Kaminari."
"Doesn't he do that electricity thing?"
"Yeah, it's soooo cool and he's incredibly adorable. Even though he's dumb sometimes."
"Alright then. Yaoyorozu! You're up!"
"Todoroki. He's so sweet and awesome."
"Uraraka! The best for last!"
I look down at my hands, "Uhhh, do I have to?"
"Yes! This is the best part of a sleepover!"
Ashido giggles, "I think we all know who it is already."
I turn red and mumble, "D-Deku."
"What was that? We couldn't hear you."
Hatsume smirks and stares at me. "Deku..."
"I'm sorry, could you say that louder?"
"DEKU!"
They laugh at my embarrassment and I hide my face in a pillow.
"That's been obvious since last year. Midoriya has gotten cooler."
Asui puts her finger on her chin, "Ribbit, but are you ever going to make a move? It's not going to randomly happen if you don't say anything."
I look at them, "There's no way I could tell him, I wouldn't be able to get the words out. Plus, what if he doesn't feel the same? It would be embarrassing if I was the only one."
Jiro looks at me, "Oh trust me, it's obvious about that too."
Is she right? Are they right? Maybe I should...no, that would ruin our friendship probably and I don't want that. But it's true that nothing will happen if I just sit here and wait for him to say something. Yet, I don't want to blow our friendship or embarrass myself.
Hatsume clears her throat, "Well I like Monoma."
We all look at her, "Really?"
She huffs and crosses her arms, "Don't start."
We laugh and keep doing more fun stuff together.
Sleepovers are so awesome. I'll definitely do this again.

It's Monday already and I'm nervous to see Deku now, even more than I used to be. I sit at my desk, looking over at Yaoyorozu, she smirks and points at Deku, making a signal that I need to tell him. I turn red and shake my head.
Absolutely not.
"Hey, Uraraka!" I jump when Deku is suddenly standing next to me.
"H-Hey, Deku."
"Are you okay? You're red and stuttering."
"Y-Yeah." I clear my throat and breathe, "Yeah, I'm fine."
"Alright. Well I heard about what happened with you and Kacchan, so I just wanted to make sure you're okay."
I smile a little in a shy way, "Yeah, I'm alright, luckily. I barely got away but I managed."
"That's good. If something happened to you, he'd be paying for it." He smiles and sits in his desk. I look back over at Yaoyorozu and she puts her hands on her chest and makes an 'aw' face. I roll my eyes embarrassed and look straightforward.
There's no way that I'll ever be able to tell him.
