Chapter 17

{Eijiro Kirishima p.o.v.}
Man I am so tired from all of the training All Might has been making this group do. I didn't think it was even possible to sweat like Niagara Falls. I get that we need to be prepared as a team for when The League Of Villains drop in on their plans some time soon, but I don't think I've ever worked this hard in my life. And to think Bakugo would actually show up? I didn't see that coming at all. Who would've guessed he'd actually agree to work as a team? Maybe it was because of what I said to him? Maybe I was too hard on him. No, that's not it. I was just stating a matter of facts and opinions. I don't think I was out of line. I just want to help my buddy.
"Um, hello? Earth to Kirishima."
"Huh? What?" I look over at Kaminari and he's staring at me as we're going to a arcade joint.
"You've been out of it for a few seconds, is something wrong?"
"No, just thinking of something recent."
"Bakugo? I'm surprised myself that he joined the group. He's usually the independent type."
"No, it's not that. Just something personal between us."
"Oh I get it. You came out of the closet."
I stop walking, "What? I don't roll like that at all. Why would you say that?"
"I don't know, you two just seem kinda close so I made a joke about it."
"Guys can be friends too you know."
"I know, I know. Chill, I was just kidding."
We get to the arcade place and play games for a while, it took things off my mind pretty well and it was relieving. I needed a little break from all of the training and stress.
Later on we take a break and eat rice.
"What do you think about all of this? The whole making a group thing to fight the villains, that is."
"I think it's a good idea. We'll be safer and smarter all together. All Might is definitely preparing us well."
"That's for sure. I think my shoulders will take a whole 6 months to stop aching."
"Exaggerate much, Kaminari?"
"No really, they're crying as we speak."
"No, that would be you."
"Hey! You're in pain too! Don't lie!"
"Of course I am. I just don't over exaggerate about it."
He huffs, "Anyways, I heard that Bakugo tried to fight Uraraka as well. What do you think that was about?"
"Midoriya probably. Why else?"
"True, I guess. But is she safe in our group now that he's joined us?"
"All Might is with us, so if anything happens then he'll stop it."
"Still though, it bothers me that The League Of Villains actually kidnapped Midoriya."
"He'll be well enough when we're ready to fight. He has a pretty strong quirk when he uses it without holding back, so maybe he'll defeat Shigaraki. If Bakugo doesn't, then I'm sure he can. He's probably the strongest kid in U.A., Bakugo and Todoroki is behind him of course. Just don't tell them I said that."
"Well, well, well. If it isn't his best friend actually ranking him. Seems odd coming from you."
"It's just my opinion. I want us to defeat the villains and that be the end of evil in Japan."
"Good point. I guess I have faith in Midoriya too."
It gets silent for a minute or two.
"So, who do you like, Kirishima?"
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"The mood got awkward so I'm changing the subject."
I sigh, "I don't really like anyone."
"Oh come on, you must like SOMEONE."
"Why would it even matter?"
"This is what guys talk about. Girls do too you know. I'm sure they already have."
"Well no girl is on my mind to date at the moment. What about you?"
He laughs a little bit, "That's simple. Jiro."
"Jiro? Why? She's makes fun of you."
"You guys do too. But I think she's cool. Her quirk is awesome and she seems chill."
"Is that so?" We jump when we see Jiro standing next to us. I look at Kaminari and his face is strawberry red.
I don't blame him.
"J-Jiro. What are you doing here?"
"The same reason everyone else is here, obviously. But seeing you two together, I just had to listen in. I got some interesting information."
He nervous laughs and I kick his leg under the table.
"Ow!" I nod my head towards her and he sighs.
"Yea," Kaminari rubs the back of his head with his hand nervously, "I didn't mean it in a weird way, honest."
"Then how did you mean it?"
"Uhhh, I've liked you since last year actually. But I never have the nerve to say it to you."
"Well, only time will tell if I'll actually like you enough to date you."
"That's okay with me. I'm sorry if I creeped you out."
"No big deal. See you later." She leaves and I smirk at Kaminari.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SMIRKING FOR!? I'VE NEVER BEEN SO EMBARRASSED IN MY LIFE!"
"That's what makes it so funny."
"FUNNY!? THIS IS ANYTHING BUT THAT!"
I laugh and cross my arms.
"Well, you've gotten farther than Uraraka."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"It's obvious that she like Midoriya. Everyone knows it. But just like you, she's too scared to make a move so she's standing on the sideline."
"I guess I can't be a hypocrite then. I do think they'd make a cute couple, to be honest. They seem really great when they hang out. Do you think Midoriya likes her the same way?"
"Only time will tell."
"Okay, you can't just steal people's lines."
"I can do whatever I want, extra." I get up to leave.
"Hey! Get back here! You copycat!" He runs after me and I laugh.
Kaminari really is a special one. If he does end up with Jiro, my prayers go out to her.
