Chapter 50 (3/4)

{Kyoka Jiro p.o.v}

I peek around a corner of a building and see a villain facing away from us at the end of an alley. Mr. Compress, I'm pretty sure his name is.
I turn to Hagakure and Koda, "There's only one," I whisper, "I think it's the guy that can trap someone in a little marble. We have to be careful not to have him get ahold of one of us. Pay close attention to his actions and stick together."
"Got it." Hagakure whispers back and Koda nods.
"Okay, this is what we're gonna do."

"Hey loser, word says you trap people in marbles. Catching kids with your little balls sounds especially wrong."
Mr. Compress turns and looks at me with a humorous smile, "If you think you're the first one to tell me a perverted jerk about my quirk, you're mistaken."
"I didn't think I was the only one actually. Just felt like saying it anyway."
"Funny that you're alone, but I see you have earphone plugs attached to your ears. What are you gonna do? Attack me with Justin Bieber songs?"
"As much as I'd love to make you suffer with that, unfortunately I can't this time. Maybe later."
I slam my speakers on the ground and blare the sound waves at him, also making the ground shatter from the volume. Once the ground is broken enough, bugs crawl out that Koda commanded to attack the villain all together once the ground broke. The bugs crawl up the leg of Mr. Compress and he completely freaks out as he's also covering his ears from my speakers.
Our intentions.
Hagakure then punches him in the jaw when he's distracted and can't even see her anyway when she doesn't have her gloves or shoes on. He falls flat on his back and I stop my speakers.
Was it that easy?
"You're probably thinking I just got defeated easily aren't you?"
He says while laughing and standing up. The insects leave after a period of time and his ears are bleeding, "You busted my eardrums, but I got something from you too." Holding up a marble, it looks empty. But I know Hagakure is actually in it.
Damn it, how did he find her?
"How did I find her, is what you're questioning, I'm sure. It's easy. Obviously a child wouldn't be dumb enough to fight a villain alone, especially from The League, so clearly there must be more with you that's hiding somewhere. The bugs were a good distraction, you must of used someone with the ability to control animals and insects, but that also means you were going to use a sneak attack while I was bothered. And because I knew that was your intentions from the beginning, I paid attention to the rest of my surroundings while pretending that the bugs were the biggest problem, and caught your friend when I felt the breeze from her running past me. Then I pretended to be punched to make you think she attacked me. But really I trapped her about 2 minutes before that."
Fuck he's good. I didn't think he was THAT clever.
"Well, good chatting with you. I'll be going now."
"Hey wait!" He jumps on stuff in the alley to reach the roofs and leaves quickly.
"Damn it!" I put my earphones in the wall to hear what direction he went in, Koda runs up to me in worry.
"This way!" We run around alleys until he finally is visible in my view, still jumping on roofs like a ninja or something.
He's definitely fast too, it's hard to keep up.
"Koda, you can control birds too right?"
He nods, "I need you to get a bunch of birds to attack Mr. Compress. I'll catch up to him enough to take him down, but I need you to have the birds cover him enough that he won't see me coming. Got it?"
I climb a escape ladder on a building and run after Mr. Compress.
"Still here I see? You're quite persistent aren't you?" He yells over his shoulder. I see a bulge in his sock, not where the ankle is but near the top of the sock.
That must be where the marble with Hagakure is hidden at.
"I'll get my friend back!"
I hear flapping above me, looking up to see at least 50 crows zoom ahead of me and flying full speed towards Mr. Compress.
Perfect, Koda.
They land on him and start pecking at him, "What the hell!?"
When they cover his face enough, I get closer to him and grow one of my earphones out in front of him to make him trip. The trip causes the marble to fall out of his sock once he falls and quickly roll towards the end of the roof, but I'm too far at the moment to grab it myself.
"KODA, CATCH THE MARBLE!"
He finally joins me on the roof and yells at the birds, "ONE OF YOU GRAB THE BALL!"
A bird leaves Mr. Compress and snatches the ball with it's claws just in time before it hit the ground.
When I finally reach Mr. Compress, I sit on his arms and legs then tie my earphones around his neck to choke him, not enough to kill him obviously but enough to make him resist. Koda ties his arms and legs together so he can't get away.
"You might want to consider the career of being a magician again as your next occupation. If you ever leave prison that is."
"Being captured by you brats is an embarrassment!"
"We have hero names you know. Earphone Jack, Anima, and Invisible girl."
"God I'm gonna puke just from hearing those."
"Do it after being taken by reinforcements."
