Chapter 6

{All Might p.o.v}
Bakugo has got some serious attitude with me lately, I am proud that he took down this villain by himself. Thanks to that, she sits in jail. Though I don't understand why he chose to attempt to fight Uraraka in the middle of school, he sits in detention for a month starting tomorrow for his selfish and reckless actions. I suppose he's gotten worse over the summer.
"All Might!"
I turn around and see Midoriya running, "You're late again."
"I know I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to."
"It's alright. Let's just start training."
"Okay."
We train for a few hours and he has actually gotten tougher over time, he doesn't break as easily as he used to and he's gotten faster and better.
"Hey, All Might? Do you know if Uraraka is okay?"
"She's fine, haven't you asked her yourself?"
"Well no actually, I haven't seen her all day and after I heard about what happened, I was just concerned."
"Concerned or worried?"
"Aren't they the same thing?"
"Well sort of. Concerned just means you hold uncertainty about something or someone, but worried is more of a stronger word for it if it's about someone or something you really care about."
"Well yes I care about her, she's my best friend." I chuckle and we take a break later on.
"All Might, why don't you have a family or a wife?"
"Some things just didn't happen for me. Saving the people matters as well and I've been doing it for years, so I guess I never really stopped to think about settling down."
"Well do you like anyone right now?"
I think about it for a few seconds, "Hmmm, your mom is kind of cute."
He slowly looks over and stares at me, "Ew?"
I laugh and pat his back, "Young Midoriya, you take everything so seriously. Also, I don't need to have a family of my own in order to have one. I see my greatest friends as my family as well. Honestly, I see you as family too."
"You do?"
"Yeah." He smiles and looks down.
"Thanks. I never knew my dad anyway. But I'm honored that my idol sees me as family instead of just a friend or just someone he's training."
"I gave you my quirk. One For All isn't something everyone has, and I cared enough about you to pass it on to you to be the next hero that'll save everyone. I'd say that's more than just someone I'm training."
He smiles again and nods, "Thank you for that too."
"Do you see me as family?"
"I see you as a lot of things. I've loved you since I was little just like any other kid. But honestly, I kind of see you as a fatherly figure."
I smile at him, "Then thank you, I couldn't be more honored."
I think about school and other things happening right now, "You know, Midoriya, I know about the other day of Bakugo confronting you in the restroom about your distance scores."
"Is that a rumor too?"
"I don't think so, but I happened to be in the hallway during it. He was rather loud about it too so I hid behind a wall and overheard everything. When he left the restroom, I tried to talk to him for a second to act like I happened to come across him. Of course though, he gave his classic attitude that he gives to everyone."
"Oh, I'm sorry you had to hear that then."
"It's not your fault what happened. Your score was impressive actually."
"Really?"
"Your score was one number below his, that says a lot about the progress you've made over the summer. I couldn't be more proud."
He smiles, "Thanks."
"I also ran into him before you showed up actually."
"What happened?"
"A villain approached him. That Himiko Toga girl, and he took her down himself. Forces came and took her to prison. I congratulated him on his part but he just gave me attitude again and walked away like nothing happened."
"What do you think she wanted?"
"She's from the League of Villains, so probably trying to persuade him to join them again."
"You don't think he'll ever join them, right?"
"Bakugo has some social issues, but he's not stupid."
"I guess that's true. But the villains are already approaching us and the year just started, things are going to start happening quickly aren't they?"
"I'm afraid so."
"Then why did they wait until school started to do this? Why not in the summer?"
"Isn't it obvious?" I look over to the ocean and just admire the scenery, "They have a big plan."
"We better get ready."
He gets up and looks determined at me, "I know I'm still pretty weak, and I'm not as strong as you yet. But I want to protect everyone and fight those villains. I want to help defeat them no matter how weak I get. I'll fight with you!"
I stare at him for a few seconds and can see the seriousness in his eyes.
It's amazing how much he wants everything he fights for every time. He has more courage than any hero I've ever met and he's only a teenager.
I smile and stand up, we lock hands like an arm wrestling match and smile in pride, "Then let's do it."
